Pvd coatings

Ok, quick update for anyone interested, between decorating the stair case, fitting a new kitchen, weekends away and family time theres not much time for faff with something for the fun of it - had a spare 2 hours this morning before work - spent hour n half getting the top cap to this point - reckon theres another 45 minutes in it. Started with the hardest part to gauge the time it will take. Attacked it with my como drill, hadn't got the bit for the dremel - i can confirm pvd is very tough and getting it off a knurled surface aint that much fun, all its going to take is time, i'll get there when i get there. I could leave the cap as it is now but want the top and bottom brass and a patina'd tube, probably a matte finish.

Another 40 mins proves my thoughts, pvd is a great coating a v tough, also great at covering imperfections in whatever its covering. Patina is the only option now.

Attacked it with some 500 grit wet and dry the other night and got a majority off, hopefully having a 'vape play day' tomorrow for building coils, mixing and fingers crossed getting the dremel/como on the nooks and crannies of this thing. Still need to clean the bottom cap. Gnurlings the biggest ball ache.

It'll get there.

The patina will just be a plain finish with no swirly stiff going on - will take a while as i want it greeny/blue.

I'll keep you posted.

We need pictures, please. Otherwise we'll just think you're just sat in your pants watching Miley Cyrus vids on youtube :)
