questions about drippers

Hi guys

Just about to go for my first dripping setup after using evods and protanks while but have a few questions.

I think im gonna go for an igo because they seem pretty cheap and have been told they are pretty good for newbies, i understand i will have to tinker with coils and wicks to find whats right for me but if someone could just fill in a few basics for me....

1, when i fit a coil or coils, do i add just enough wick to dip into the bottom reservoir part or do I kinda try to pack the tank part without choking it?

2, do i actually fill by dripping down the drip tip and rotating to wick it up or do i remove the tank and drip onto the wicks?

3, because i can drip into it, does that mean if i place it down on a table the juice will drip back out of it?

4, do i just drip enough to wet the wicks? How do i know how much juice i have left if the rda is made of say ss rather than clear material?

5, i like changing flavours, if i fancy a change do i just pull the cotton, rinse the atty under running tap, re wick and drip a new flavour?

1, when i fit a coil or coils, do i add just enough wick to dip into the bottom reservoir part or do I kinda try to pack the tank part without choking it? Generally,I slide in enough cotton to loosely fill the coil & then drape the remaining in to the drip well.

2, do i actually fill by dripping down the drip tip and rotating to wick it up or do i remove the tank and drip onto the wicks? It isn't a tank,it's called the top cap & it's up to you whether you remove the cap or drip through the drip tip.

3, because i can drip into it, does that mean if i place it down on a table the juice will drip back out of it? If it does,then you've likely dripped too much juice in.

4, do i just drip enough to wet the wicks? How do i know how much juice i have left if the rda is made of say ss rather than clear material? You will be able to taste the change as your wick(s)dry out.

5, i like changing flavours, if i fancy a change do i just pull the cotton, rinse the atty under running tap, re wick and drip a new flavour? With cotton wool wicks,simply pull out the old,load with fresh & off you go(entirely up to you whether you rinse the coils or just dry burn them before loading new cotton)

i put cotton through the middle of the coil and tuck the tails underneath so as not to restrict air flow

just remove your drip tip and put a few drops in buddy

yes a little bit of juice may come back out of the airholes it wont be a massive catastrohe though as they dont hold very much.

i soak mine well - after a few toots the vapor will get weaker thats your cue to fire a few drops in

u just change flavours mate it may take a couple of cycles to fully get rid of the old flavour but its fine and dandy

Ok so have had an evening of tinkering.
The igo hasnt arrived and neither has my mech mod but the trident did,
I think its a trident anyway

So i had a go at dual coiling but unless i made massive coils or really scraggy microcoils my mvp wouldnt play because of low ohms, so i went for a single 1.9 ohm coil for tonight to have a toot.
I bought some cotton balls and tried cotton for the first time too.

Few questions, on my protank i like a 7w vape but have had to up the rda vape to about 10w to get a good hit, is this normal?
I get a second or so delay after firing before vapor production, is this just because of my hastily made single coil isnt the best?
And I feel like I'm getting a different kind of vape than with a protank, have coughed more with the rda than I ever did with the protank, I dont think its dry hits because im keeping an eye on the cotton since im not used to it, seems more like a 'whoa momma' kind of cough!
The flavours do taste better on this setup but its knocking me for 6, could my 18mg juice be hitting harder on a dripper than the protank? Should i maybe drip lower nic juices?

Yes to the lower nic level,I switched to an RDA and chucked in some of my ADV 18mg,& gave myself a nic headache.I am now down to 12-14mg and considering even lower as I'm still able to put the RDA down for upwards of an hour whereas with my RBA's on 18mg,I still chain-vaped.
