Quick Look @ Ultrasonic Cleaners

I have one of these too which I bought for about £10 from Aldi in their special offers section.

+1

Originally bought to clean some of my fathers old metal watchstraps.

Now used to clean my market sample kits and bits and bobs.

Does a great job after 2 x 480 second cycles.

I fancy one of these :)

Im a bit worried about mixing washing up liquid and miltons tho (isnt miltons a mild bleach?) Ist there something about mixing bleach and detergent to make some pretty poisonous gasses ?

I could be wrong! :D

i just used 1 cup warm water, 1 cup white vinegar and a few drops of washing up liquid and all cleaned well for me! Point to note though.....If your cleaning atties etc with wicks on them then might be worth putting in the cleaner a second time but with water only in it.......Would hate to be vaping vinegar lol!

I have the same one shown in the review above and it is awesome for cleaning all sorts of stuff.

I use Seaclean 2 and occasionally add in no nonsense de-greaser from screwfix for stuff that needs it.

Bear in mind that the plastic tray that comes with it will reduce the effectiveness by about 30% as plastic muffles/dissipates the ultrasonic waves. Having said that ideally you should not place things directly on the metal floor of the tank for a couple of reasons....
1) stuff will jiggle around in there and could get scratched...
2) the resonator doobery responsible for the waves is attached directly to the tank base. Anything too heavy will impede its ability to produce waves and can potentially damage it.

Oh and it has also rescued a bottle of RY4 that was not at all pleasant and turned it into a lully vape!

ZT bleach and acids are a bad idea. The Mrs. managed to perform a WW1 chlorine gas re-enactment by mistake in our old house by doing that in the loo.

not sure about miltons and washing up liquid though.

Ooooo might have to get me one of these

The price doesn't exactly break the bank and have plenty of other bits around the house it could be used for .

As well someone mentioned that people use them to help steep liquid, so will defiantly have to give that a try as well

dan Dan when i read about steeping and what it achieved i kinda eyed my cleaner wondering if it would speed the process up knowing how it works.... this was a few weeks ago when i started vaping. Did some research and found mahoosive thread on another forum that discussed and verified it works.

The RY4 experiement i did worked a treat.... only a slight colour change after nearly 4 hours in the UC but now a really nice vape whereas before it was rank. I have also tried a citrus that the Mrs. did not like but have since read that citrus flavs do not generally need (much) steeping.

Think it will be a very useful tool for diy liquids as a few passes will blend concentrates with the base far better than shaking. Also will reduce steeping from weeks to hours.. concensus seemed to be 1hour ultrasonic = 1 week steeping.

Might be worth looking for a device with a 30 min timer as setting it off every 8 mins (like mine) can be a pain but i have by the pc in the mancave so no realy hardship there.

The only thing with a 30 minute timer is that chances are the water will get hot, which will react with the nicotine. Lots of short cycles are better with time for the water to cool in between

I thought the water had to be between 50 and 60c to be efficient? I've not used mine for ages but I used to use distilled water with a drop of fairy liquid in for the first couple of runs. Then a run in some lidl's gin to wash any soap out. Gin dries quicker too :)

No comments about wasting gin please, the stuff from lidls sends you blind lol
