Right question time :).

Not so long back I went to my local vape shop wanting an RDA. After hearing about the plumes of vapour and the taste (plus trying new flavours), I had to get one. They recommended to me the Igo-W3 (for my 1st RDA). This thing had 5 posts and I was a little overwhelmed but took it home and gave it a shot. The thing was shit. For me anyway. Before hand the only rebuilding I had done was my protank heads. The W3 was too airy. Not much vapour even though plenty of juice in there and air hole on the single coil. I just couldn't master it. So I gave it to a mate.

Did I get the wrong RDA for me possibly? And if I don't like RDA's are Genesis style attys worth trying? (Even though I want one)

If you could put a photo up of your build we could point you in the right direction.

for a first time build the w3 was and is probably a bit to compleicated with the 5 post holes. a better choice would have been the IGO W or IGO w4 dual coil option. the air holes are a little smaller and with more deck room only have 3 posts holes a lot easier to manage and build single or dual coils.

+1 on the igo l,so easy even o can do it :-)

Why don't you hit two birds with one stone and get a UD AGI? It's a genesis style rebuildable that can be broken down to leave the top section to use as a dripper. I broke the glass on mine before I had chance to set it up in genesis so i used it solely as a dripper since my ownership, it has only one air hole and two posts so it's ideal for a beginner and learning to wrap wires around the posts taught me to fiddly fingered when building.

I now have a spaced-out dual coil set up in it so it definitely allows room for creativity :)

I hated drippers, didn't work for me at all :(

You can set up so that the pair of holes are partially covered up so only one small hole each side is letting air in - this will cut down on your airy draw.

+1for IGO L and IGo w.the Decks are big enough for a beginner to work with.

The UD AGI is an idea or just go down the cheap Igo-L route. But have any of you had a bad experience with RDAs? Before you found the right one to begin with? The one I had, wow it hit my chest like a ton of bricks.

Sounds to me like you have an airflow issue.
Without seeing how you build your dripper, sounds to me like your using too much wick
which is restricting your airflow. Either that or your airholes are not lined up correctly
