RDA for Nunchaku mod?

Hi,

I’m thinking of getting an RDA, not now, but sometime after Christmas. Yes, I like to do some thorough research before any purchase!

As the title says, I would be using it on the Nunchaku mod, which is a single 18650 mod and will be vaping between 40-65w.

I just wondered, does the actual RDA matter that much when it comes to performance or best wattage, or is that more to do with the coils you choose?

I was initially looking at the ‘Drop Dead’, then saw the ‘Wotofo Profile’ which recommends to be vaped between 45-65w. I also see that Uwell are bringing out a Nunchaku RDA soon, so we’ll see what the reviews say about that.

Obviously the ‘Profile’ gives a recommended wattage for its mesh coil, but if I was to get a ‘Drop Dead’, how am I suppose to know the best coils for vaping between 40-60w?

Any help would be great.

For a single battery mod I would definitely recommend a single coil rda. The amount of power you need will depend on your coil choice. More metal = more power. Stick to SS or Ni80 coils. Some nice fused claptons or aliens. Or get some brochrome or flapton.

Or a single mesh rda would work lovely on it :D

So you would probably recommend the ‘Wotofo Profile’ as this is a mesh/single coil RDA?

What resistance coil would you recommend? I think the ‘Profile’ comes with a .33 coil, as well as the mesh. Would you stick to that resistance?

Ooh there's a lot of questions in one single question there!!

Yes, the RDA itself definitely makes a difference on flavour and each RDA will have its fans and detractors - have a quick look on this forum at all the arguments/discussions every time a RDA comes out!

But yes the coil you put in it makes a huge difference too.

Single coil RDAs are good for single 18650 devices because they need less power, so you'll be changing batteries less frequently. But you can use a dual coil RDA, you'll just be changing batteries more frequently.

I don't think I'd be recommending a mesh RDA if you're not used to building (and even if you are, mesh is a finicky gimmicky bugger to work with!)

At 40w you'll be looking for a 0.3-0.4 ohm build.

I have the drop dead RDA, it's very easy to build on, flavour is fine, deep juice wells and high deck make it hard to overdrip with is a real bonus, but long wicks mean you gonna need decent wicking to fight gravity. And it's a dual coil.

Single coil I'm curious about the Drop Solo, my money would be on that but I don't own it so can't truly comment.

Yeah, I hear what you’re saying about the mesh, but the ‘Profile’ comes with pre-made strips which makes it easy, looking at the videos anyway!

Thing that is weird, is Uwell are bringing out an RDA specifically designed for the Nunchaku; it’s called the Nunchaku RDA! and it is a dual coil RDA?! This is what threw me.

But yes, I will look into the Drop Solo, looks decent.

Cheers
