That's what should happen, you send the juice up, wet the wicks and then the spare is drawn back into the bottle... means you shouldn't spill any.

Squeeze mod bottle, connect refill bottle and squeeze while releasing pressure on mod bottle. When fluid has transferred, keep refill bottle squeezed and turn mod upside down ie refill bottle is below mod bottle, release pressure on refill bottle and it should only suck a small amount of air down from mod bottle....sounds complicated but it isn't!
