Hi guys , i have a couple of i stick pico mods and the housing have come apart but the board still works ,i have been thinking of making my own mod using the board , but the problem is i don't want to use a metal casing if i can avoid it but on the istick they use the metal battery casing as the negative from the 510, there is no wire from the negative of the battery to the board and it doesn't seem to have a tab on the board to attach a wire to the negative battery. Can i just run a wire from the negative part of the 510 to the battery. Thanks for any help.

Don't know but the Pico was done in a resin version so it is doable.

Thanks for the help , not to sure if to just use a metal case and wire it the way they did it , i tried to find out what board the pico uses so as to see if i can use another way of wiring it but couldn't find any diagrams. Thanks again.

If the board was screwed onto the case and it looks like it has a connection on the board as in the hole has a pad around it then the board has a separate negative

the positive from the battery is always separate from the 510 positive but the negative can be combined

Handy to know, thanks.

I thought that would be the case, but wasn't sure - and knowing my luck if I actually tried it I'd set fire to myself lol.

Thanks guys so are you saying i can run the negative wire from the 510 to the battery ? this is a pic of the other side of the board i can't see where to solder the negative wire on the board to the battery as they didn't use it, can anyone see where to solder it . Thanks.

Thanks bear72 that's what i wanted clearing up. i have decided to use a old tin for the case but will line the inside a bit and didn't really want connect the negative from the battery to the tin , so with your info i can bypass that bit. The wires from the battery sled look a little thin so not sure if i need to replace them or not. thanks for any more advice you might have.

You really have to understand that the 510 will be connected to the tin there for will earth the tin as your earth goes on the 510 and board from the battery.
Be careful as could end up with a short then things go on fire.
Google is the place to learn about wiring etc

Thanks for the info i will solder the negative wire from the board to the negative 510 then the negative wire from the battery to the tin or 510 not sure which to go with probably battery to 510. does that sound good?
