Apes, my Xtar SV2 Rocket charger has given up the ghost on me. Well, the springs have become detached and I can’t see how I’m gonna hook them back on. So looking for some recommendations for another 2 bay charger. Ideally one that runs off mains power and not USB. TIA

Never had any probs with a nitecore d4 charger though I recently got a xtar vc4 which isn't bad except its a usb cable which kinda sucks as its abit short

The MiBoxer C2-4000 is pretty good, it will charge 18350 to 21700 and you can select the charge rate from 200, 300, 500, 800, 1,000 or 1,500 for each bay, and it also reads the batteries internal resistance and will give a max charging indication so you don't accidentally charge something like an 18350 at max rate - the internal resistance reading is also good for judging just how clapped out your batteries are, but you will need to clean your battery contacts to get an accurate reading. It also has a charge/discharge function if you want to check your battery capacity.

If you don't give a shit about internal resistance/battery capacity there is a cheaper C2-3000 model that is purely a charger.

Both are 2 bay, with an external mains lead.

I’ve been on the hunt also.

the xstar x2 seems a good shout but out of stock at fogstar

The newest addition to the Xtar 'AC Power Series' the X2 is capable of charging both cells at 1A. This charger comes complete with a power cord and UK plug that conforms to British Standards. Compatible with all popular cell sizes (18350, 18650, 20700, 21700). The front features a bright clear display, with a voltage indicator, capacity readout, and charge speed. This display can be turned off with the button on the front of the charger if needed. The Xtar X2 is also capable of charging Ni-MH cells.

Got a Nitecore new i2 a couple of years ago and it's worked fine for me, mains input with optional 12V input, and reasonable price. Be carefull where you buy apparently there are fakes out there.

Why go for a 2 Bay, when you can have a 4 Bay for a couple of quid more?

Having 4 bays can help you out in the long run incase you need to charge more than 2 in a shorter period of time instead of waiting for 1 set to finish.

Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it

Many 4 bay chargers have shared bays that will double the charging rate to the one bay when the other has finished charging, or give no method of adjusting power rate. Sometimes its a case of what you pay for, and a good 4 bay, with individually adjustable bays can be a bit more than a few £ more - sometimes a decent 2 bay makes more sense if you aren't a high wattage vaper or prone to chain vaping.

For the money of a 2 bay, like has been said you can get a 4 bay for pence more......

Xtar 4S Is a wicked charger, also just the bulk standard Xtar 4 is blooming good too. I would stick to Star if I was you. and think just how many times those bats go in and out. The spring on any charger is always the first thing to go.

I predominantly only MTL so don’t necessarily tend to be constantly charging batteries. From browsing, the Xtar X2 is looking a likely purchase.
