Royal Mail lift ban on E-Liquid?

TBh this smacks of the first step in the theory I posted a couple of weeks ago.

The government has worked out that its only really viable point of taxation is on base nicotine. The cost to manufacturers will have to go up, which will pass on to the end user - i.e. us.

First step of this is to restrict access to home-mixers. How? make it difficult to legally purchase/receive it.

Step one complete.

I am going to delve into this a bit further, as i don't think it is classed as dangerous air cargo, i will check with one of the guys at work that does all the hazmat stuff.

It's been illegal (at least on paper) to post hazardous liquids (any liquid carrying the Toxic symbol counts as such) via Royal Mail for a long time, it's never been enforced though so everyone pretty much just posts stuff.

Nic Base is different. It's higher concentrated and so is riskier, and would you want your post to be in the same van as a litre bottle that leaked over everything?

there are several couriers that are happy to cart nic base around the UK provided you get an agreement from them in writing first that it's OK to do so. Which adds a few quid to a litre for a business buying the stuff. Ultimately that doesn't raise the price of end user liquid all that much. If this was enforced it would drive the cost of nicotine base up to home mixers who are typically buying much smaller quantities if you had to get nicotine base shipped via courier instead of your parcel costing £3 to deliver now the delivery cost is more like £7

RM changing things so that it's all legal and above board to send e-liquids up to 50mg/ml is a good thing!

Now if they would just increase the size of that f#*£!^g slot by about 6 mm ...

Lol, I would be glad just of 2-3mm to be fair. My packaging usually slips through fine now with 10mm bottles but just occasionally I get a pack that is a mm or so bigger. PITA aint it.

:) jiffy bags are totally out for me, they were always a bit too restrictive so I send all small packages out in cardboard boxes. 99% of the time they slide through but eventually one doesn't want to

just pop the bubble wrap in the jiffy :P

If you can figure out a way to get a 30ml juice bottle through a 25mm slot gap I'm all ears :)

I thought I'd cracked it with 'flat' 30ml bottles only they are 1mm too wide without packaging and the shape mucks up the labels. I can put everything in 10ml bottles but I'd really prefer not to.

I recently got some bottles that are just over 20mm wide maybe that's your answer :P

Get a cat flap and put a sticker on saying big packages :)
