Hey fellow vapers. Quick question for you all.

I'm struggling to come to a decision :banghead:

Ok keeping this short and sweet I've decided I want a Russian 91% over the kayfun for my own reasons.

Problem is two fold.

1) Seem out of stock everywhere in uk (found one place think it was northanvaper or something)

and

2) Is it worth £65ish. What I mean is will I be just as happy with a clone at half the price. I hear good and bad things about clones so after a bit of feedback if possible.

I don't want to waste twice as much money on the real deal when a clone might be a mirror image if you get me. Begs the other question tho, which clone? lol

If you guys and gals can give me some feedback in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using an mvp 2. Will the russian be ok with something like that or will I need to be pushing serious wattage to get the best quailty from one of these bad boys.

Thanks people :)

if you go clone don`t buy one from fasttech there absolutely pants i did and the centre pin broke they are replacing also the screws for holding the wire in place are way too small so its a bitch to coil up and as for using it on the mvp it will work at the hgher watt range better but not the full wattage as it will taste burnt after a few toots well it did for me when i tried it.

i would say there are better tanks out there clone wise

Personally I think the Russian is brilliant. Currently using it on a Vaporshark and a Silverback. It's a bit of a pain to build due to the stupidly tiny screws but I just find it an incredibly smooth vape.

I went clone Russian 91% because I wanted it in black, to sit on the black Vaporshark DNA30. It does look the nuts IMHO though I have rDNAs now. Got the Russian from FastTech, SKU 1720600 for £14.
First few builds, it leaked and I hated it. Got an authentic KFL+ o-ring set from Cloud9Vaping and that sorted out all the problems - best £2.50 I could've spent.
Since then the Russian has been awesome, excellent vape for under £17, well pleased.
Have also got a black clone KFL+ nano kit for it.

Looks good mate :) I made an impulse purchase the other night and went for the hcigar clone but it's not a Russian 91%.. It's a kayfun 3.1. I'm happy with the quality of it tho and apart from the fill hole difference they all have the same design I guess. Got a problem tho I can't seem to get the flavour out of my micro coil. My evod micro cotton build it far superior at the moment. That can't be right lol. I'm doing something wrong :/

Flavour

Assuming all connections and micro coil is "heating" correctly... 1) I find lifting the coil a good 2 to 3mm above the air hole on deck, allows more air flow and flavour to be produced, as the coil is then not being air starved. 2) Not to much cotton wick, as kayfuns don't tend to allow juice to flow if wick to tight. 3) I assume the base air screw is undone !!!

Hope this helps.

I've not long since modified my Russian clone as the airflow hole was so tiny it was easier sucking a 747 up a straw than getting a bit draw from it. By opening the hole to about 1.5mm and adding a chamfer to the external end it is still shit but at least no more packs of dogs gather outside as the high pitched whistle has gone. I got it from focalecigs ages ago, took it apart and gave everything a bloody good scrub to cure the vile taste of vaping machine oil. The coil screws are not only tiny but appear to have a chamfer under their heads that causes the wire to spit out the instant I try to tighten them, leading to lots of swearing. Since I have now switched to drippers fulltime, the Russian rarely sees light, unless visitors express an interest in swapping from smoking to vaping and I'll produce it for them to test.

Got 3 clones and 1 original, one of the clones is OK not on par with the original but acceptable but two are crap and showing bits of rust and the stainless steel is poor also, threads getting worse. Guess you take a chance or pay for quality first time round, wish I hadn't bothered with the clones to be honest, you live and learn.

Lol yea any feedback is great appreciated :). Before seeing the replies I had another stab at it. Much better experience this time. I've dropped my ohms from 1.8 to 1.3. Was aiming for 1.5 but these things happen lol. And in this build did raise the coil much higher than last time. Flavours coming thru. Still not the omg experience I hear people raving about. I'm not dissing them or the product. Just my own coils lol. I've taken some pic so hopefully get them uploaded to show tomorrow. I'm kinda like meh at the moment. Thought my evods would be in a draw about now gathering dust. Still 50/50 about my go too vape. Be interesting what I grab when I go out tomorrow

The one thing I'm most gutted about it this kayfun 3.1 filling port. I would have preferred the Russians screw port any day. Did a but of reading. Apparently I need a certain fill bottle/syringe. Forgot the name now. Know that it was 18g something lol. I was amazed at the quality tho. This is the first clone I've ever bought. Apart from user error in coil builds I'm hooked on clones lol. Had some metal dust and chippings on the threads but couple of soaks and fairy liquid she really became a top end product :). Very happy with hcigar so far.
