Hi all, I have just started using my Smok Skyhook, could anyone shed any light on the safe range of the pcb temperature.
I am using twin Staicase coils rating at 0.129 ohms which are drawing about 26amps @ 3.3V. So far it is averaging at around 38C when chain vaping for a short while.
Any Info would be appreciated.
Cheers
Ian.

It doesn't sound excessive but I honestly have no idea ... most mods don't show board temps.

what wattage are you using it at? .... that's what will cause the board to get hot as the board will have to create that power.

Board should shut the mod down if temp gets above its set threshold or at least warn you.

Thank Simon G, I am vaping at 80w but am still experimenting with the airflow and wattage to find that sweet spot for the biggest cloud and flavour.
The Skyhook has a much lower drag resistance (higher airflow)than the x-priv and tfv12 prince rba combo (supplied coils at 0.254 ohms) I have been using previously.

Nwhornet - cheers. Thought that was the case but didn't want to assume and find out the hard way.

If the airflow is restrictive then at 80w it’s possible that the pcb could heat up because of conducted heat from the tank, as well. Is the tank getting hot?

My old Alien had a PCB temp display and I never paid it a moment's notice.
