Might be useful...

I guess people could add their positive and negative experiences.

I could then add them as a list on this first message, unless editing is time limited, in that case a kind and generous mod possibly could look in here once in a while...

this could spiral out of hand very quickly and end very badly...I'll have to talk it over with OS.....

This isn't EBay and some of the stuff we buy and sell is Chinese manufactured and of dubious quality to start with. I bought a lavatube from someone on the old forum - sold and bought in good faith. It died completely 5 weeks later. Not his fault, not mine, but a Muppet could taint a vendor like this (a good guy) because of an incident like this. I'm with USMMUK on this.

I'm not even sure if the dislike button for general posting is a good idea. It has the potential to be abused for unsound reasons.

It is a very tricky subject.

With a vendor, there are MANY options to resolve the issue, personally, before coming to a public forum and criticizing their response to a particular situation. All options would have to have been 100% exhausted before I could reasonably allow a negative posting to be made.

For a seller, it is strongly recommended that the ONLY payment option is through PAYPAL GOODs, which PAYPAL protects. If an issue were to arise, it could be handled confidentially and personally through PayPal. I will be the first one to tell you, if you paid by cash, check, or any other option through paypal that was not the goods option, that you are a complete tit and it's your own damn fault.

I fully agree with a name and shame, but some people are quick to post in their anger and it can spiral out of control very quickly. This is something that will have to be talked over with the Admin team. For right now, I think most of us are pretty acceptable of a lot of things.

One thing is certain, we do NOT want this to become a negative forum, nor do we want to allow situations that could open the possibility of repeat recent mistakes.

Toby and I have the ability to undo the dislike option. I also believe the Mods (not sure) have the ability to edit reputation. If it were being abused, it could be caught early on. And the person abusing it could get an infraction or a ban. We can also disable particular users from using the dislike button ;)

I agree that this is a chilled out relaxed place and I certainly wish to keep it that way.

Just a little bit of insider info....

The reputation system is already in place and stats are being collected.
I have chosen to hide it for now for exactly the reasons stated above.

BUT, it is there and if the time seems right we can show it.
