I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong.

If I put some juice directly on to the coil and cotton and take a draw the taste is amazing. After filling the tank the taste is muted after few draws.

Am I putting to much cotton or what can it else be ?

It'll be easier for people to give feedback if you can maybe put up a couple of photos of your build, see your wicking, know what vg/pg juice you are using, what resistance you're at and what wattage you're using.

It does sound like either the cotton may be too tight in the coil or that the wick is packed down too tight over the juice channels. [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]

Probably too much cotton in the juice ports which means it's not wicking very well.

When you put the cotton in there should be very slight resistance when moving the cotton, but you shouldn't have so much in there that the coils move when you do so (too much cotton).

For the serpent mini cut the wicks over the o-rings, not the outside of the AFC, and fluff the cotton up at the ends... you should end up with something that looks like a bow tie. It will look like there isn't enough cotton, but trust me there is... juice everything up and carefully place the cotton in the juice wells but don't compress the cotton too much, you just want to make sure it's clear of the threads.

Screw everything back together and give it another try.

I've had the SM for a couple of months (22mm) and I've tried simple contact and spaced coils, twisted, Clapton and fused Clapton. The taste is so dependant on wicking just as others have said before. I wick the coils fairly tightly with Cotton Bacon then cut them level with the bottom O ring. Once cut I fluff the ends and cut across the top of the coil, probably removing about one third of the "bow tie". The wicks sit about half way down the channels but are pretty thin at that point.
This works best for me, no leaking and lots of flavour. I wish I could take credit for the idea but I followed a YouTube tutorial.

Agreed. Sounds like too much cotton. I have two of these tanks and I cut the corners off of the cotton ends so that the point is just long enough to touch the bottom of the well.

Used to do this all the time, definitely too much cotton. I started off putting too much as was scared too little would result in fires. Doesn't make much sense now to me either.

:).

Yup, definitely wicking - the Serpent Mini (25mm & 22mm) are both sensitive to too much wick especially if you put larger coils in them (3mm +) Thinning down your wick until you find out how much is too little (i.e. it leaks) was the way i did it. A good sign is bubbles rising through the tank the after a draw, means its sucking in the juice.
