Good day to all, I've first time ordered a 50ml 30/70 shortfill I want to use my own nicotine which I have separate bottles of vg & pg I would like it to be 18mg strength, what quantities of each do I need to use to achieve this, It's for MTL, is this correct the final ratio should be 50/50.
I spent a long time last night searching the forum about this but must admit got a bit confused by it all, so would you mind advising me please.

now im no expert at mixing but need to ask this first.
what shortfill juice have you bought.
you say 30/70. is that 70vg as usually bottles are marked up with vg first so 70/30
the nicotine. are they 10ml 18mg or 20mg nic shots? sadly if so you will not be able to get to 18mg strength.
72% nicotine would work using roughly 12.5ml but legally now this cant be bought by the general public under tpd law. someone can advise on that but only by private message as it cant be discussed on the public forum.

zero nic shortfills were brought in to get around the tpd law and are more for 3mg final strengths but will work at 6mg but weaken the strength of the flavour. anything over 6mg you will weaken the flavour so much you will hardly have any of the original taste left.

You not going to get it up to 18mg without diluting the flavour, adding 10ml of 72mg will give you 60ml of 12mg juice, what strength nic are you intending to use.

You wont be able to get 18mg using a shortfill.
Shortfills are mostly made to add 1 nicshot making 60ml of 3mg liquid, wich is most popular for DTL.

Highest strengh nic can be legally sold in UK is 20mg in 10ml quantity.

Unless you have access to 72mg nic yes. Closest to MTL shortfills would be Manabush but think they're around 12mg with nic shots

i worked this out using one shot concentrate at 15% mix
would this be a better option for Jonty

15ml of 72 would give 65ml of 18mg, slightly dilutes the final juice but not by much, obviously you would have to tip the lot into a bigger bottle and it needs to be nic in pg to get close to 50/50.
Not exact calculations but near enough for me anyway.

With TPD nic shots then generally yes unless nicotine strength doesn't bother you, MTL you are taking a much smaller inhale and proportionately less nicotine (mouthful vs lungful).

You can obviously still MTL 70/30 shortfills but in general you won't get the higher nicotine level without totally diluting the flavour using 18mg nic shots.

You can get some 20ml 60VG/40PG shortfills from Manabush, if you add about 7ml of 72% PG based nicotine you can get 18mg closer to 50/50, I think you can find other 60/40 shortfills too but I don't know where off hand.
