It’a a shame it’s you first calix experience @Simon G , I think you might like the version 2.
I'm sure I told you this a while back. ;)

see we don't disagree on everything. :D

yeah it's my fav too ..... are you running direct air on the coil or around the sides stylee? ..... I can't say I noticed much difference but it's a thing.

What do you mean by around the sides? To be honest it’s confusing me a bit, it vapes great but a few times now I’ve had the top off and when i put it back on the hole has disappeared and I’ve had to take it apart and like it up again.

you don't have to line the holes/holes up with the coil, you can put the holes on the opposite side of the rda from the coil and the channels/grooves in the ultem top part will channel the air around and hit either side of the coil..... it's a bit confusing because there's 3 top parts, the barrel with the big hole in (which like I say you can put that hole anywhere really) then you have the inner top part which adjusts the airflow then you have the ultem part which, like I say will guide the airflow around to the coil, you just put that in and turn it clockwise until it stops to make sure it's in the right place and not touching the coil.

does any of that make sense? if not I'll try and explain it better :D

if you take the ultem bit out you'll see what I mean ... that's what those groves are for around the bottom, they channel the air from the air inlet around the sides to hit the coil.... and you'll see the cut out for the screw on the deck, so you just twist it to the right until it stops there, then you'll know it's in the right place and you know the coil won't be touching the ultem, because if you have the airhole round the back you won't have any idea where the coil is..... sort of thing.... :D

I am currently rocking the Basal for my MTL setup! Its very good! I have to say though I have been eyeing up the Vim or possibly the Wee Vim when that comes out! :)

nice, not seen the basel in the flesh ..... I wouldn't recommend the VIM for anyone who's been vaping tanks and mods.... with no power adjustment and little airflow adjustment it felt like a massive step backwards for me, perfect for someone's first kit but .... I don't know, I'd rather have a little pod-type thing if I'm going down that road.

I was thinking about getting a pod when I got the basal. Still thinking about it in all honesty! I hear what you’re saying with the Vim. If the We Vim is going to be about £12 I think I would pick one up for nic salts and it can live in my jacket pocket. Basal is great though, would really recommend it.

I've heard the Digiflavor Upen is a good MTL vape, I even have one, but it's not even made it out the box in over a week yet, LOL

I've not tried many, I have the Joyetech Teros, which I love the shape, size and feel of, and the Joyetech ECO aio which I prefer the vape on but it's not as nice to carry around as the Teros ..... I take either to Sainsburys with me, but I'd much rather be vaping on a mini mod with a Hastur mini on top..... they are useful, good for situations when a mod and tank isn't practical, the VIM isn't tiny though... it has an 18650 in it and it's only a couple of CM shorter than my SW mini with a little tank on it.

I really like the look of the Teros and that colour changing paint brings me back to my youth, my toy cars did the same thing. Never realised the vim had an 18650 hidden in there. Makes a lot of sense. Tbh I don’t really need any more vape gear! I just like trying out new things.
