I used to work around the corner from a chap who made jewellery with capsules of blood and seaman (his own though he never admitted) attached to the jewellery small glass tubes all very goth like

We used to call him Tom to his face even though his name was Steve he never understood why the reason was everyone new him by the nick name “tommy tank”

Strange chap always dressed in black...
