Hey all I'm looking at modding my faulty smok m65 by removing the rather disarsdirus chip set and replacing it with the new SX350J and as a second part of the mod I would like to devise a way of possibly making a sliding bottom cover instead of having to use the 4 screws but this is a secondary concern as i would like to have the usb charging, im wanting to use the smok XPro m65 case as i love the size and shape. Any help would be greatly accepted

It's really going to depend on the positioning of the buttons, either you'll be able to swap it over with minimal fuss or you'll have to modify the board and fit seperate switches. Judging by the button placement on my sx mini it wont be a simple task, you'll have to modify the board to fit the case...

Modify the board? I thought maybe I'd have to modify the up and down holes in the box, so how would you go about changing the board?

Well ive bought the SX350J chip when it arrives I will keep this thread updated with pics ect of my build, fingers crossed won't take much modding to fit the board

Ok so i have received the SX350J chip and it seems all i need to do is grind out the plus minus button holes a little , im thinking i might put a low profile rocker switch (links would be great help) and then just grind out the screen opening a little longer and wider. I will post some pics tonight. An after thought is that i might use the smok m80 shell and use a series /parallel switch to enable on-the-go 75w to 160w switching, they are small and easy to fit, i think they ate called bspt somthing like that!

Personally, I'd not switch the board, it could damage it. I'd just keep it to series at 120w and run it about 60 and you'll get about the same life as if it was Parallel anyways..

Looking like im going to have to cut the whole faceure out and replace it with a thin copper sheet whith all the holes cut out as it looks a mess at the moment.

Cheers ax didn't realise that, well if this doesn't work out then i may try with the m80 boxmod

Here are a few pics of my experiment! Hmmm is all i can say so far
