Smok RPM2 taste issues

Hiya! Got myself a cheap lil vape to get off the disposables, and all was good til my 0.16 coil burnt out - it came with a 0.4 too so I’ve switched it out, but there’s like.. literally no flavour at all? I’ve tried a few different juices and they all taste like air

Currently using it at 25 watts as that was recommended but I’ve tried higher and lower with no benefit

Am I doing something wrong or is a 0.4 just not for me?

their QC whent downhil 3-4 years ago after they flooded the market with new kits almost every week.

a quick google shows this
The RPM 2 0.16 Ω is best used with higher VG e-liquids such as those with a VG/PG ratio such as 70:30 or 80:20. The RPM 0.4 Ω coil is best used with e-liquids with a VG/PG ratio between 50:50 and 70:30.
if you are using 70vg it might be a bit too thick even though it says it can take 70vg but i would say at lower wattage 50/50 may be better.

could be a duff coil which can happen with anyy make.
appart from that i have no idea what the issue could be then,soz.

No worries, I appreciate the input as I know nothing where vg/pg are concerned! Just gonna buy some replacement 0.16s and hope for the best

Hi and welcome @CaraJay, my wife has the Smok Thallo which takes the RPM2 coils.
And she’s never had any problems.

She uses 70vg/30pg with both coils 0.16ohm and I think it’s 0.6ohm and has had no issues.

I think as @MrDJ says it’s been a duff coil.

But Make sure when you get new coils they are from a well known company. The wife gets hers from Vaping 101 as they have always got them in stock

Oo could that be the issue itself then? It’s showing 0.43 on the display

Almost all Coils fluctuate and can show slightly higher or lower. This is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
