Isn't burl wood a diseased piece of wood? I've seen many a video on YouTube of people putting large burls on a lathe and turning them into various objects

I don't think it's diseased, rather a malformed growth of the wood.

burl is when the tree is under stress or is injured think, cut, scab and scar on humans its the same with a tree but here's the thing all tress can have burls its not rare.....
