So there has been some discussion about steeping concentrates with 72mg nic to speed up the process @mattyk2010 mentioned that he’s been doing it, and it works. @Ment posted something that suggested it too when he found his liquid steeped faster when he didn’t add the pg straight away.

Last night I mixed 2.5ml of atmos labs mastic concentrate with 10ml of 72mg vg nic. This concentrate is almost clear and a bit cloudy, and when I used to mix 7mg bottles of liquid, would take weeks and weeks to have get a slight colour change.

Between last night and this morning this mix has gone from being very slightly cloudy and just about clear to being bright orange, just overnight.

Interesting, as I’ve bought this premixed from atmos labs, and it was really dark, almost black, and very pungent. My own mixes would never age like this, and I noticed a difference in flavour. I emailed them about it a couple of years ago and Panos replied explaining that the stronger the liquid, the darker it goes.

I would suggest all you mixers try this method of increasing steep activity, it definitely works.

I’m also interested to know if vg or pg speed up or slow down the process. I think @Ment was suggesting this might be the case.

Aye I got round to it. I usually mix 500ml of unflavoured 12 or 14mg then mix up 50ml bottles with flavours when required. I was doing 500ml last night and thought I’d try this with the mastic as it’s a concentrate that has weird steeping properties. I’ll be interested to see what happens to it over the next week.

so i add the nic and the concentrate only for a few days

then add the vg pg base ?

u are mixing these together in the final bottle so the nic exposed to more air causing it to oxidize in the flavor
and this makes the juice ready faster ?

No, the higher the strength of the nic, the faster the steep. Nothing to do with bottle size.

so u aren't just mixing the concentrate the the nic together Then adding the base after afew days ?
bear with me mate im just up lol

Yep, concentrates and nic and let it steep. But you could do it in a 10ml bottle or a 100ml bottle. What makes the difference is the nic strength, not air. Same principle as how 24mg steeps faster than 12mg, if you mix it all at once.

@dahut the only other way you can do it is to put the bottles in a darkened room in front of a large plasma telly with this running on it.
