Well about 4 weeks ago I tried Ry4 for the first time. I liked it so decided to order some PA RY4 concentrate and mix my own.
It tasted horrible, really horrible. So I was about to rinse the bottle out and throw the concentrate in the bin when I got sidetracked and the wife put it in the kitchen cupboard.
This was about 3 weeks ago. I went into the cupboard today to fill one off my tanks and spotted the little 10ml bottle in the corner.
I asked her what it was and she told me it's the stuff you made and didn't like, you left it on the bench so I just put it in the cupboard as I didn't know what you wanted to do with it.
So I took a sniff and it smelt quite nice. I thought, hmm, maybe it has matured. It had definately darkened and gone a dark brown colour.
I filled the tank on the KFL with it and, wow! This is nice, I didn't realise steeping made such a difference.
So there you go, if you've mixed something that initially tastes awful, don't throw it away, leave it a couple of weeks and go back to it. It may very well be transformed into something very nice.
I just have to wait another 2 - 3 weeks for the latest batch to mature now, can't wait.
