Hi all i have been vaping for about 4 years over various different setups starting with a pen style vape to building on a griffin to many smok tanks. about 4 months ago i decided to give squonking on a Gbox a go, i loved it but the Gbox is quite heavy and i don't really need the 2 battery mod the amount i vape now. I happened across a deal on vapour depot to get the Pulse BF mechanical mod for £17.99 and have heard it is a one of the better ones so snapped one up.


This will be my first mechanical mod and wondered if there is any really good kind of making the switch guide i have read the ohms law guide on this site but would like to read more.

I also bought a clone of Dead rabbit which i have been using and quite like but i wonder how different in terms of performance to the legit version? is it worth investing in?

mechs are simple tbh
if it dont fire pressing the button harder isn't the best idea
know what your batts are capable off ie lowest ohms and stay above it
always test you dripper/tank on a regulated mod after building it to check its at the right ohms
my fave rule is if it starts to get hot v quick part ways with it fast

would suggest getting some good gen batts from a recognised vendor as there are a lot of fakes out there
because your squonking i'm guessing your going to be sub ohming so more care is needed over the batts
your coil ohm choice is much more important as you can't just turn the power up, it is what it is
ss flat wire seems to be doing rather well at the moe with most peps on a mech

as for clones most of the time they are ruddy close to the gen ones as long as they work lol
you might be better off getting a single coil dripper for it ,pulse 22 and the gorge are nice

It sounds like you have the main ingredient for mechs, common sense so you should be fine, no crazy low ohm builds if in doubt as here first.

The Pulse is a great starter and you will love it's potability compared to the Gbox.

Coil wise, I always aim for as close to 0.30 ohms and the pulse delivers a great vape at that, I also get the best result's on single coils, Pulse 24mm or Pulse 22mm? as daft as it sounds I get more flavour from the Pulse 24mm in single coil mode than I do from the Pulse 22mm Single coil.

Make sure you do your builds on a regulated device or ohms reader.

I'm assuming you have the Radar that came with the Gbox? it's also a pretty decent RDA with the right build on it.

The Dead Rabbit isn't one of my favourites for squonking, it's not 'bad' but I get too many dry hits from it due to the leg length and using dessert juices it struggles to keep up with the juice flow, fantastic as a dripper though.

Thanks for your responses, i have watched a few you tubes on it and feel fairly confident although this whole battery venting thing sounds scary lol am i right in saying it is because you let your battery get too low is most common? one youtube i watched said if your battery vents then you should throw your mod is that right?

its normaly running to low an ohm setup that gets the batt to vent
if you run it flat it wont vent but its not good for the batt and sometimes it can kill the batt but no venting
you'll notice the vape drop off before you run the batt totally flat so it shouldn't be that much of a prob
a dead short in your build can also cause it


trust me you'll know when it's time to lob the mod if it ever happens

no, heat is what makes batteries vent.... in a mech that's usually from drawing too many amps or direct shorting.
