Syringes vs Scales

I doubt you could measure the required 1ml samples accurately enough to trust that level of variation anyway.
I have i 1ml pipette that will measure to an accuracy of 0.01ml if measured at a temperature of 20 centigrade.
You can get more accurate ones.
There is no question, you can measure to such accuracy but there is no point in that accuracy.

i weigh my gear with a £4.50 set of digital scales and use 1ml = 1gr
.3 mg nic in a 10 ml mix = .42 gr got to more consistant than a syringe and a lot more so than counting drops

The main advantage is saving time and cleaning up not so that you can achieve accuracy to a hundredth of a gram. So glad that I was persuaded here to switch from syringes.
Remember that with DIY juice making you just want to be able to replicate not present records to the local trading standards.

For PG, nicotine (in PG) and flavourings I use 1ml = 1gm.
For each batch of VG, I measure 10mls using a 10ml syringe and weigh it, divide by 10 and that's the grammes per mil for the ejuicemeup calculator.
For mixing I keep PG and VG in squeezy sauce bottles, a really easy and clean way to measure out without syringes and drawing needles.

We all know thick gloopy VG is a pain in the Ass to draw into a 10mil syringe! Takes forever especially if you need to measure it in higher volumes.

I purchased digital kitchen scales before Xmas and noticed they can measure in Mil's.

I made 2 lots of my monthly liquid x2 200ml bottles and it took minutes!
I could kick myself wasting all that time with syringes! Lol!

I got some Salter Glass Digital Scales £12.99 from Sainsburys.
Best £12.99 spent in ages
If you are making 100ml or over at a time .. use scales .. good ones that will measure .0 or even better .01 - do some research and find out the differing weights for PG/VG etc .. in fact even better and more hands on weigh your own base and flavours to a known measurement ((i.e. : say 50ml if you have a measuring cylinder that you know is exactly 50ml (would recommend grade A cylinders)) note all the weights per ml .. and go from there.

there is an Android (boo) app called liquiX that has al the relevant weights built in (tho I have found some flavours can vary - and double check against my own weights)

mixing by weight is far easier and far more accurate .. and also .. less messy .. very little after clean up as you weigh into the end receptacle

I mainly use a 50ml cylinder for all my personal mixes nowadays, no stress. Not a creating complex flavours for reviewers after free liquid to bullshit about for half an hour method though ;)

I like to weigh my vg if I make more than 50ml as I find it easier and more accurate. Just multiply ml by 1.26. :) I have not tried warming vg to make it easier to handle in a syringe. I did critisise someone who wanted to weigh everything instead of using a syringe but now do it a bit myself. Weight or volume doesn't matter as long as you are accurate. Now measuring in drops is crazy but I do that too; 1 drop of sweetener per 50ml for some recipes I make.

I quite fancy getting scales but I don't have any problem using syringes with my VG and VG nic. I just take the plunger out, hold my thumb over the nozzle and pour the VG into the top of the syringe. It's surprisingly easy to control accurately. Replace the plunger and plunge away. Plunge.

and why haven't i thought of that... -.- lol
