Hello happy POTV forum readers,

Have some of you found a combination of tank and stock coils that could handle high VG liquids for MTL vaping?

I have been vaping MTL using Nautilus tank (bought in 2016!) on a Zelos mod with usually Aspire Clapton Triton mini 1.8 ohm coils but find that many of my favourite liquids available in shortfills can only be found in 70VG ratio minimum.

I recently bought lots of high VG liquids, quite a few custards, and the Clapton 1.8 coils last only 2/3 days before starting to fail. I am not very experienced and looking for tanks with off the shelf coils, preferably above ohm. I tried DTL vaping with sub-ohm coils but didn't like it.

A large capacity tank would be best, or one with available extension. I am used to the 5ml of the Nautilus and find the 2 ml tanks very frustrating!

Thank you all for suggestions.

Maybe one of the Innokin tanks, Zlide or Zenith. The updated coils for these have larger wick holes and should be ok for 70VG I would think. You would have to order from abroad though to get one above 2ml.

Innokin Zenith Pro is 5.5ml. Have just seen it on a site called Vaper Street. They are in Jersey and don't seem to be restricted by TPD regulations. Have never used them personally but the Google reviews are very positive.

Also bear in mind that this tank is 24mm diameter. I think you would get a slight overhang as the mod is designed for 22mm tanks if I recall correctly. It will still work but you may not like the look.

The Zenith Pro tank looks great. I saw some review of the Zenith, but didn't know you could find it in a larger size.
Yes, the Zelos is 22mm wide, that should work. I could probably do with a new mod as well, so will have a look for a suitable one.
That sounds great, thank you.

I don't have any better options than what Rew has suggested.

..... believe it or not, it's quite a difficult set of criteria to meet.

I realise that thick liquids are not ideal for MTL with coils with not too low resistance. Have some of you tried the nautilus X (or XS) with the U-Tech coils? They are supposed to stand thick liquids better, but it looks like they got bad reviews on POTV. What about the Nautilus 1.8 ohm AIO (Nic Salt) coils, are they ok with free base nicotine shots and would they take thick liquids?

You can use freebase with the Nautilus AIO coil. They do have larger wick holes than other Nautilus coils but I've never tried them with 70VG. I suspect they would probably work though.
I tried the Nautilus X when it first came out. Didn't like it personally. Don't know if the coils have improved since then.

I almost mentioned the Nautilus x and yeah, it will vape fine with 70vg, I've done it myself. ... but it's not as good as the Innokin Tanks imo, so I didn't bother. Coil availability isn't as good either and you have a much wider and better range of coils with the Innokin Z-coils.

Speaking from personal experience I don't think any of the small nautilus coils work well with higher VG, either for wicking or flavour.

Thank you so much @rew and @Simon G for your recommendations. I had a look at Zenith Pro reviews and it does seem to be spot on. I like the fact it is available at 5.5ml capacity. As you say, there is a wide range of Zenith coils and it looks like if the liquids struggle with one resistance, I can always try a lower one.
I will order the tank. I should be able to post feedback when I get going.
Many thanks

No worries mate. The coils that come with the tank may have the smaller wick holes, but Innokin are starting to release new coils in the range that will have the larger ones. I'm not sure where you would buy the coils from to guarantee the new ones at the moment. You can order stuff from Innokin UK though.
