TANK GETTING HOT?

Yo what's up guys
I got the gen mod with a Zeus X RTA. I recently bought N80 fused clapton wire and after building my ohm resistance is 0.09 which is scary asf. They are 26ga*3 + 36ga. Been vaping for a while and everything seems normal. The tanks gets extremely hot like hot to the touch. So I'm trying to figure out if the coils are stainless steel or something and whether I should put the mod on temperature control. Still a beginner vaper only been vaping for 2 years now. Been building for about 6 months now. Please advise. Much appreciated l.

At 0.09ohm you will be putting high watts through them just to get hot. The heat transfers from the coils to the deck & tank & makes it hot. Build higher resistance & use less power. Temp control won't work as you have stated they are Ni80. No idea where you get the notion that they're SS.

As per nwhornet low resistance + power equals heat, and the first place that’ll go is the atty- whether that’s a tank /dripper etc. His advice about building lower and firing higher is also the way to go to stop it.

Or, get An Ultem drip tip of a long enough length so that your lips aren’t touching the tank and carry on as per. Just don’t touch it after you’ve fired it.

Also don’t be scared of low resistance on a regulated mod- at all. Be aware of your amp draw in case something goes haywire, but if the mod fires it you’re good to go.

Is Ni80 the same as N80 because the coils are N80 not Ni80. I was trying to figure out if its stainless steel I'm not sure of it is.

Ni80 and N80 are both Nichrome bud- and this is not able to be used in temperature control mode. It’s a low resistance VW/VV wire that’s used for predominantly big surface area coils that still maintain a low resistance. Often confused with Nickel ,or Ni200, which is temperature controlled only due to the fact it gets toxic when it becomes too hot.

Stainless steel would be SS316/317 and can be used in both TC and VW/VV. Easiest way to tell is when you dry fire them - Nichrome goes purple/blue and stainless goes a gold/bronze colour. Stainless and Nichrome both have similar properties when used in VW/VV, and if one ended up being the other it wouldn’t be too much of an issue - unless you were wanting to use the temperature control mode at which point Nichrome would be useless.

Tha is so much for the advice bro I appreciate it. This has helped me more to understand how to build better. Thanks once again

No probs bud. We were all new to it once [emoji1303]
Thanks man. Just one more question. As I said before I'm getting 0.09 ohms on this 26ga*3 +36ga. Is there a way to build higher resistance on that? Tried adding 6 wraps( usual is 5 wraps) and 6 doesn't fit. Building on a Zeus x rta.

got space for a bigger diameter coil instead of more wraps?
