not tried it.. but in theory it would work.. Although I'd assume it would be very like cotton wicks in the sense that it would burn easily... What was it made of?

'not all teabags are created equal' Some nutter (some time in the past maybe?)

Well I suppose the paper used for t bags is clean as can be being suitable for use with a consumable and I do see the theory if you manage to make a hollow tube with the paper aiding the wicking process

You got a link to the page ?

I think you're maybe incorrect on that note, or they wouldn't sell unbleached teabags. Same with cotton, gotta make sure it's unbleached (organic).

It was a tetly teabaf haha can find the page now but theres afew youtube videos on it

teabag bag as a wick

I wouldn't touch it personally. Teabags are white due to a process called chlorine bleaching*. I guess you might be able to boil it first to make it safe (anyone?) but if you're doing that it's a terrible waste of a cuppa.

*Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) Bleaching exists as well, but to my knowledge I've never found a way to tell which method a particular brand uses.

click here if you want your brew experience ruining for ever with tea bag / bleach information.

Thanks guys I was jist curious ill stick to silica and cotton wicks

I have been experimenting with ecowool and cotton wicks ;)

Similar in that I have been rolling the cotton and using it as a 'centre' in the ecowool, so far it has turned out really good!!!
