Tester wanted for: SERIES B DNA 75 (new sandstorm 25mm version)

@joe90 the 2.5ohm coils are too high a resistance for TC, the 0.5ohm coils are perfect though. (Or did you mean 2.5mm Inner diameter @ 0.5 ohms... also perfect for TC) you don't absolutely need to space them, TC will work with contact coils but it's slightly less accurate.

@DjDoc ss wire can be safely pulsed and dry burned like ka1 which is why it has become the most popular/widespread TC wire in use.
@red5 hi yes sorry I did mean 2.5 mm inside diameter 0.5 ohms of the coil thanks for info

What you can do is make 1x parallel coil then unwhind 1 off the other then that way you have 2x perfectly spaced coils

While we’re all talking temp control I have a noob question.

How come on my dna devices I can change both the temperature and the wattage in tc mode?

I thought the idea was that I’d set the temp and the mod would control the wattage to hit the desired temp.

Wattage is used to ramp up temp quickly before being temp controlled at the limit you set.
Too low of a wattage and you may never hit temp limits

Thanks. So is there any benefit to setting it to anything other than the maximum the board can output?

on a dna you're ok leaving it at 75watts. on other devices where the tc isnt as good you need to set the wattage or it wont work as well/properly

Thanks that makes sense.

@JAC Vapour I’m assuming, that as this is a DNA75 mod, the capabilities of which are fairly well known, you’d like us to focus on evaluating the build quality and fit and finish of the device rather than the functionality per se?
