Testing woes

The home kits are pretty much useless in that case then.

The percentage of positive results was sitting at an average of roughly 1% a few weeks ago. It was 5.7% last I seen so the amount of positive results is definitely rising but that's fine, well all stay in for a bit again and it'll go away.

It’s all very vague the first test we had months ago was two swabs up the nose and the back of the throat, I was offered to train to give them I said no but the two sample were in fact two tests we couldn’t confirm if this translated to two negatives or two positives, the new tests are one swab in both the same places now the problem is if the swab touches the tongue or cheek etc the test is void as it’s not a saliva test so who knows. I take the test get the text and go in, we all had antibody tests as well some staff were positive but because they showed no symptoms and the antigen was negative they still went on duty.... it is the 3 glasses theory

I’m half empty says the first glass
I’m half full says the second
I think this is piss says the third

All this random testing people over and over again is pointless. If they tested everyone once, if you are positive you isolate for a couple of weeks, if you aren't then you carry on as normal. Job done isn't it? They could have done this while we were locked down for fucking months. None of it makes any sense to me.
But just because I didn't have it yesterday doesn't mean I won't meet someone with it today and come down with it next week though?

World beating right enough.

well you won't will you.... you'll only meet people that don't have it, that's the point of testing.

We we both get tested and we don't have it, then we could meet right, and not get it.

If I test positive I stay at home until I'm negative and you won't get it.

Just multiple that same situation across the whole country.

... or do we think people that are testing positive are just carrying on and not isolating? .... if they are doing that then testing won't make any difference... but if not then finding people who test positive is a good thing because it stops them spreading it, so the more positive tests results the better... no? or am I being really dumb?

If only the entire country could be tested in 1 day.

A mate of mine has been tested 35 times.... I think it's ridiculous.
