Hello all,

I’ve been a smoker for nearly 30 years. I gave up 6 weeks ago by switching to vaping. It’s been all absolute revelation because I’ve tried patches, gum, willpower, everything in the past to try to give up the ciggies. I wouldn’t say packing in has been a breeze but I can say that it was only possible because of switching to vaping. I have saved a fortune to date and best of all feel loads better health wise.

A mate at work suggested I buy the aspire zelos kit if I was going to try to give up. I’ve found it a superb device with decent flavour and strength and best of all easy to use. I’m using 12mg juice normally 50/50 which seems to work for me, although I wan to try to cut down to 6mg nicotine. Over the next few months I am definitely going to explore the next steps in terms of a mod to try to enhance the flavour more. The choice seems endless

Finding this site has been invaluable (along with the vaping with Vic vlog) in helping me to understand vaping and the terminology and tech. POTV has been an endless source of brilliant info for a complete noob like me and everyone seems dead friendly here as well. So thank you all, your advice and thoughts are important to those of us starting out.

I am going to check out the vape shops in Birmingham and find one I can trust as I still learning and still ask really stupid questions (so don’t expect me to post any good questions or ideas on here just yet!).

Anyway, thanks again and thanks for letting me join the community.

Cheers, Paul
Welcome Paul and great to learn of another ex-smoker!

Congrats on the progress mate. Don't rush pushing down the nic levels(you're already gaining great benefits just being off the cancer sticks), 5-6 months is a solid point to drop your nic levels unless you're finding the things too sickly/harsh already. I personally stepped down in 6 month steps(wasn't counting, just roughly), things felt about right around that time as the nic levels got sickly and harsh around those points and the step down was a welcome adjustment(mostly on 3mg now, with a supplement of 12mg hits once in a while).
