the cobra has landed

I knew it was luck, caught the coil the other night filling it back up, can I get it right again can I feck lol
 
I'll be having some silica here soon. If you want me to, I can send some to you to try if I get a chance to go to the post office.
 
That would be great James if you dont mind mate, its worth a try. i've just been messing for 30 mins hot spots all over the place and ended up ripping the wick out and going to have to reburn it to try again tomorrow, not enough light in the kitchen to see what i'm doing.

Have you done the rizla trick? Personally I think this SS wick is a pain in the arse!
Will let you know when it's hear.
 
not tried that mate, ive used todd s drill bit method mate, I don't know now if the wick if going in to tight or not, talk about stressed.

I made sure the wick was not touching the bottom, but now unsure if its the wick catching the side of the inlet hole does that cause problems. not a damn clue. got it right on my second and just knew it was luck.

mines going great guns atm

reburned the wick mate, got it working again, all coils fired up but i have a slight burnt taste, FFS have I over oxidised now
 
just tried this method

now no burnt taste, jesus reefing is easy lol
