Well after mucho head scratching and how the fuck is that gonna fit on that things have moved on slightly.its still very rough and ready, theres a lot of tidying up and tweaking to be done yet,but its getting there-my next mods definitely gonna be made from wood...
I'm really interested in seeing this completed, though I reckon H&S would never allow it with those sharp edges.
My Dexter mod is on hold until next payday as I couldn't find anything interesting last time I was in town so it's going to be an old baccy tin but due to its age,it needs painting to hide all the scratches, dents etc.It has had a quick squirt of black aerosol but that just revealed a heap of specks of shite that caused the paint to react so I've had to remove it all and start again, only to find that it was the age of the aerosol contents causing the shite finish. The end result isn't going to be anything but functional unfortunately.
pogle. YOU really are pushing my buttons now mate! In its current form, steam punk is at the front of my mind! Loving the rivets in particular PLEASE keep updating this mate, I can't wait to see how this turns out. Absolutely fascinating to see how it is progressing, thank you. Chegs - there was no time limit set mate. Others who took the challenge have also yet to break cover with their items of genius.
I just will feel embarrassed that the tin mod will be so scruffy & plain after the length of time I've taken. The downside to living in no-mans land is there isn't even a hardware shop, though there is a Gift shop that I'd hoped might have something metal that looked unusual(wrongly)unless a lamp stand converted would do.
Mate, I've still got the first VV tin mod I ever made. It's a bit like Trigger's broom - it's had three new connectors and a new switch, looks like shit, but vapes like a choo choo train, and that's the important thing...
If the worst scenario comes to be reality, we can make something to carry on Vaping. Who gives a monkey's chuff what they look like - as long as we can get the parts, we are laughing mate!
me being one of the still to finish mob , small set back had to redo my tin as was not happy with it polished new one up today lot better and a lot neater , hopefully i will have something ready soonish ( if i ever manage to get it right )
BUCCY - same applies mate - there is no rush. I'd hate to think anyone would feel pressured to get something done that they aren't happy with. When you posted up what you were thinking, I would have been very surprised if it took you a day or so! Take your time and be happy mate, no pressure from anyone.
Steampunk you say Dexter,hmmm-yeah see where you're coming from, completely unintentional though, just bodging it as i go along My next mod will definitely be steampunk inspired, the original idea for this one was fairly simple, working with metal has forced me to change it drastically, but also thrown up some interesting twists along the way which should be far easier to put into practice using wood. This is as far as i've gotten today, might have to reposition the clasp due to other fixings and the two parts of the lid not joining up flushly
just had a lightbulb moment looking at this-STEAMPUNK!!!
