My Mum's 91 and is a couple of hours drive away from me and my siblings. Back in March we set up a phone rota so that she had contact from someone every day - I'm sure she got a call from all of us in a day every so often when we got confused with our days ha ha. We also set up some local help through the church for shopping and stuff which she has really enjoyed and has given us peace of mind.
She's just starting to feel resentful, her birthday is tomorrow and last year we had a big family gathering to celebrate her 90th. I think she's been reflecting on it and feeling like her life's being wasted shut away in doors. I feel very sorry for her.
