The Sun has a dig at vaping again

Hmmm, well, I’m aware that it’s an article in The Sun, so I couldn’t give a rat’s ass what it has to say.

Wouldn't surprise me if BAT own dinner lady. When I first got back into any interest in vaping again dinner lady seemed every where I'd never heard of them. IF they came from no where, had great marketing, turned up at expos around Europe and maybe U.S. I Know I'd be thinking their was some decent dough and knowledge on marketing behind dinner lady.

I don't know if any of that actually happened
And
I do get a bit paranoid apparently lol.

Personally I believe that kids are smarter than these scare-mongering articles give them credit for. They are also much more resourceful. If they want something they will figure out a way to get it, label it Unicorn Candy Delight or Death's Whispering Last Throw. I think their opinion on wanting to try something is much more likely to be influenced by a fellow classmate having tried something.
How I wish these sensationalist tabloid publications that try to misinform public opinion die down and people instead rely on respectable media outlets. Sadly, click bait seems to come on top every time. Maybe us adults are not as wise as we think we are...

All that may well be true but that's not important, the article says that "Vaping firms have been accused of marketing e-cigarettes to children by branding them with images of unicorns, rainbows and sweets." .... and if you read it you'll find out that they are being accused by 'The Royal Pharmaceutical Society'

... Pharmaceutical society chairwoman Sandra Gidley said: “These are the vaping equivalent of alcopops and clearly designed to hook teenagers into an addiction.”

that claim also seems to have been supported by British American Tobacco who have 'taken its E-Fizz and Dinner Lady products off its website pending a review'

So what you have is an attack on vaping companies by Pharma supported and reinforced by Tobacco.

That's the story and I don't think that's scare-mongering, it's just scary.

The Times is also owned by Murdoch / News International

Yes, that’s why I pointed it out. On sunday the times had carried out an exclusive investigation and by coincidence on tuesday the sun have a warning from top doctors about the same thing.

The last time I actually read the Sun, I was in a hospital waiting room for an extended period and there was nothing else to read / do.

I really wish I hadn't.

The article I chanced upon inside this piece of crap was a breathless, propaganda like "call to arms'
about how everybody should support fracking, and how it does no harm to the environment at all, even 'makes it better', and everyone who says otherwise is stupid and should just shut up..... etc... etc

= It's not worth anything, it just supports the business interests of the Murdoch Family.

Yes I agree but unfortunately media like the sun are useful for shaping public opinion.

Having a go through the article again, you are absolutely right. Although the lazy one-sided reporting that's been done by The Sun does not help at all.

At worst, they are actively pushing the agenda willfully neglecting even an attempt to present a fair representation of the issue.

At best, they have come across a piece they thought could fetch them easy clicks without any regards to the responsibility they have towards their readers (as a news publication) of a fair look into the matter. Imagine the kind of picture this draws in the heads of the people who rely solely on The Sun for their news.
