I was under the impression, that legislation from the EU Regarding everything, not just e-cigs. Was decided by a group of unelected people. How far from the true is that. About as far as you can get. In reality, it all boils down to one person. That person, being the one sitting at the top of the s..t heap.
This quote
all legislation must be cleared by the president before it is introduced and the president sets the commission’s priorities.
Has been taken from this article,

And while not being e-cig related as such. It demonstrates, that you only really need to "lobby" one person in the EU to get what you want out of it.

Cherry picked this bit.
Although individual commissioners are responsible for these powers
Although the commissioners can have their say, the president can sack them.
The president, has the power to change portfolios and dismiss individual commissioners.

With me not being a political type. Was the "right of veto" lost from this area, or was that another section,(so to speak)

As far as I know, with the new "Constitution", it is lost. It should now be a majority rule.
But you know...
It nevertheless makes me laugh each time a head of State is whining that "Europe forces us to [add whatever measure HE wants to pass, but does not want the political backlash to hit him]".
Bunch of ***
