What's new

Things that have changed!

You got room in the fridge for a couple of rolls of TP?

Accepting deliveries has been the weirdest thing for me, if you spot them coming up the driveway with a parcel and open the door, you both end up staring at each other for a few seconds trying to figure out who’s going to make the first move. It’s like a weird twist between a old fashioned Wild West shoot up thing, where you take a few steps away then turn to shoot, and making your first move towards a potential partner. Very odd.

The best one was at the start of all this, the UPS guy “do you want to sign this or you scared?” [emoji23]

I’m out of ammo. And all the gun shops are closed.
Oh no [emoji47]
I was lucky. I bought a 1000 shell's the week before the shutdown so I'm good when the plague of zombies come [emoji23]

Be interested to hear from a Spaniard perspective what's the outbreak been like for Spain.
I know it's been or going to be devastating everywhere but it looks like Spain and Italy are on the other side of the eye of the storm?

Not sure we'd learn much from China on this because of previous outbreaks over there they must have been way more prepared than everyone else.
Maybe we'll finally learn from this.
Well, with almost 14k deceased people, situation is not good or promising.

Its true that quarantine is working but IMHO we are commiting (and commited) some unforgivable errors.
- Seeing what have been happening in China along february and we "playing the ostrich". Nah... coulndt happen to us, we are superior than that.
- Not taking seriously the contagion menace: big congregations of people during the first days of march (random reasons)
- Not placing and performing some simple controls as sampling body temperature at train/bus station or big mall entrances; public populated places. Also, not doing enough "quick tests", specially in people traveling in their cars, insiders, outsiders...

Our government reacted too late, now we are paying for that.
Now, looking forward to see if quarantine ends this month or what. Not likely :(

Finally, as you said, hope we can learn somthing from this because thats demonstrated that we are far from being prepared for something like this.

I do think that some things are going to stick around for a while, self distancing at shops, no crowds of people there is no way normal life will resume for a long time after the lock down has been lifted. I also can't see other countries welcoming us to their shores for a while, or at least until you can prove that you are not a risk to enter their country.
