So will be starting to try and mix some of my own juice at the weekend and i have been looking
to do a 70pg-30vg mix with a pg based nic and water soluble flavour (also got pg in it).
I have been trying to read up as much as i can and it seems some people thin there mix down.
Would this mix needed to be thinned down with distilled water or i believe some use vodka ???
If so what % would be used ???

thanks

I do not do this so not sure what it brings to the table?

I 'thin' with PG.
I am interested to see what others think though - sorry I could not help.

Personally, I would just try your first mix without thinning unless someone has any other ideas.

You're making a mix with 70% PG? That will not need thinning down, it will be close to a watery consistency already.

Ok thanks for you replys i will not add anything to the mix then and see how we get on.
walks yes the juice i have been using from the stat of my vaping has all been a 70-30 mix, so i thought
i would start on that mix as i know what the shop stuff is like so i have a idea of what it should taste like.
Then if i can get that right i can then start to try some other ratio's flavours.
thanks

As said above it is only high vg juices that might sometimes need thining.
Some vg is thicker than others so not all vg would require equal thinning.
I have thinned vg with about 10% water but would not do it routinely.
If you ever start mixing high vg juices and you are having wicking problems, then would be the time to start thinning.

Ok thanks for that as said i'm new to all this so just trying to cover all the options.

If you're doing a 70% PG mix then you'll have a pretty thin juice to start with, it shouldn't need any thinning even if you were to use it in something like an Evod or Protank3. Most devices will work just fine with a 50/50 mix, Thinning usually is reserved for if you want to keep a high VG ratio but want to use the juice in something with very small juice channels or wicks...

Thanks for this i am slowly trying to learn all i can, so i don't make too many balls ups.

Juice mixing is part science, part arcane art. The science bit you can learn in an hour - PG, VG, AG (Aqueous Glycerine), Nic Base, Distilled Water or Vodka and Flavours pretty much covers the juice stuff, then there's Hardware like measuring beakers or cylinders, Drawing needles (the blunt ones), Syringes, Gloves (Latex or Vinyl) possibly some scales for large batch mixes. Bottles and caps ( I got mine from Bottles & Jars - Glass Dropper Bottles - Naturallythinking Pure Aromatherapy and Spa ), Once you've got the flavours, diluents and Nic base then a mixing calculator will take care of the main ratios of PG / VG / Nic Base / Flavours, (thinners like Distilled water or Vodka can be added a few drops at a time to get the desired effect for your first mix then subtracted from the VG in subsequent mixes - if you need them at all) Everything else comes under the arcane art bit - The actual combining flavours to give a desired result - that's an art and is why people pay good money to Folks like manabush or MrKraken...
