My son once ate a fire lighter whilst I was lighting the fire, then he drank white spirit full of paint whilst his dad answered the phone (in the same room). I'm a terrible parent and fire lighters and white spirit should be legislated against and fires in houses?!?!

I apparently once managed to get hold of my Grandads travel sickness medication and was quite happily hallucinating. Can you imagine how tricky it is to make a child ill that has just taken travel sickness tablets? There are far more dangerous products than nicotine, at least it makes you vomit.

When I was a toddler, apparently I loved to consume coal, cat litter and various other items left at ground level. My mother was a nurse though so anything I ate that was likely to kill me was soon remedied, they do say there's a "golden hour" for medical emergencies which was more like a few seconds in my case.

When i was a kid at home from childrens home i found my dads stash of fireworks thin i might have been around 6 or 7yrs old anyway i got a banger (didnt know what it was) anyway i lit it held it in my hand and BANG!!! It blew up in my hand i ran home crying and cos i was scared i was in trouble i said a bigger kid done it to me, my father marched me out to find the bigger kid, so i see the biggest kid/ adult i could find(he might have been around 19/20-ish and said it was him dad...my father battered fuck out of this poor bloke for no reason... I think i got away with it but it haunted me for years after :-(

If it had been from a right-wing paper the child would have been described as deprived or underprivileged, the parents as average, the area they live in as 'the working-class suburb of..' and there would have been an interview with the child's parents edited in a way that made them sound both uneducated and incredibly irate, whilst the whole article would have still managed to maintain the theme of anti-ecig
