TPA sweetener alternative?

Thanks PlumeBlu - must admit I'd umm and ahh before trying balsamic (although I might be stupid enough to use myself as a research subject ... :umm: )

Would it be correct to have concerns over lemon juice because of the natural sugars in the fruit either clagging up the coil or just making the juice a brown colour within atomisers as the natural sugars caramelise from interacting with a heat source?

I think any fruit concentrate will have a similar effect really but I personally use concentrated lemon juice in some of my mixes over a citric or malic acid addition and haven't really had any similar issues.

PD, do you not find that stevia has a certain flavour profile though? - To make more sense of that :D , I use sucralose with some flavours/mixes and ethyl maltol with others as I find that they affect/add to flavours differently ...

Yes - for defo

I use the TPA (sucralose) and EM together in some mixes .. depending on the end result I want .. they are for sure not equal

as an aside to this .. I still take some sweets in real coffee .. and I find while I can handle stevia in it .. sucralose is better alters the taste a lot does stevia .. not in a bad way .. just a different way

I find Stevia can have a liquorice/bitter taste sometimes, certainly not as much of an allrounder IMO

Quite ... its best used in small doses the bitterness doesnt come thru so much

good i suspect in Black Powder tho ?

As it happens I didn't try it in BP at all as the liquorice root flavouring is so potent that it didn't need it. I had to use lemon juice to try and lift the fruit flavours a little instead :)

Stevia as far as I remember is a member of the liquorice family which is why the flavour notes are the same, as you say LilyRed the root is very sweet but so much sweeter than typical sugars that it registers bitter to our taste receptors. There are a few flavours that stevia can work really well with but as most people's palate is tuned toward sucralose and similar sugars there are many more flavours it would spoil.

PlumeBlu I'll definitely have to add some to my box of tricks now :)

I love liquorice and love how well it works with citrus & berry flavours ... currently I have sweetness on the brain as I've been experimenting with malic acid %ages for the last couple of weeks and have a face like a cat's bum from all the sourness ...

I have a face like a cats bum too but that is from having a mess around with a tobacco, a cream and a fruit that is oddly vapeable and yet not at the same time :)
