Trouble with complex coils and incorrect ohms?

I'm having trouble getting a decent vape with this build. It is a dual 0.45 ohm fused claptons from vape fly on an OBS engine. I had a terrible time with the first tank. I took it apart and realised only one coil was firing and only the post leg was heating up on the second coil. I readjusted it so it heats evenly. It seems to need around 80-90w to get a decent vape but it is a bit harsh. On a lower wattage (I normally vape 40-55w) the coil takes ages to heat up. It also seems to take a long time to cool down. Is this typical for this type of build? So I still with more simple coils?

Second, my Geekvape aegis legend reads the build at 0.50 ohms instead of 0.225. It seems the Aegis is shit at reading coil ohms. Does it matter if the mod incorrectly reads the ohms? Should I give up on this mod and look into a replacement?

There is something wrong if you are getting wildly varying readings like that.
I'm no expert, but use similar coils at around 40-55 watts.

Are you sure both coils are firing? I.e. is the mod only registering 1 coil still? Also, what metal are they?

They are kanthal coils. I checked that both are firing before I put it together this time. I assume that I did the same last time but I can't be sure.

Can't help you with the Aegis, but may I suggest you close the gaps in the coils, or only have them slightly spaced. Also looks like you could do with more cotton inside those coils.

Like @zouzounaki said. Your ramp up time is going to be longer with more complex kanthal coils. Why not try a simple round build in there and see how you get on first?
24ga SS, 2.5mm id, 6 wraps will get you around 0.27 ohms.

My profile picture is of an obs engine
This is my favourite tank and this is the type of build I usually use
SS Clapton at 0.4 ohms and run at 45-50w.

Part way through a vaping the ohms reading dropped to 0.20 and I dropped the power to 35.5w.
It seems to be vaping better now.

check all the screws are tight
especially after dry firing
Ohms jumping about is usually a bad connection
