No amount of PR bullshit will cover that up.

Its bad enough when and individual does it, a company doing it is just wrong.

Luckily there are enough decent companies out there that you can choose not to do business with these people.

I really don't get why it matters so much that people are getting so uptight.......I remember the argument of selling over rrp on the original ukv.......as adults we should be able to spend our money as we want or sell items at what ever price that we want.........golden Greek for example ......oddy was around £70 I paid £100 .......my money I earned I spend it how I want.......if I want something so bad but can't afford it it's just tuff.......people have been selling there places on waiting lists for expensive cars for years and people have paid anywhere from 30% to way over the value of the car just to get one sooner and when the car is ready they still have to pay for the car.......I've sold some motor bike parts on eBay and they have gone for over rrp and one piece of plastic fairing went for about 4 times the rrp just because you can't get them.......isn't this one of those items.....?
didnt Ukecigstore give a variant to Todd who then auctioned it off....so he got it for free and it went for £1600 for charity.....the person who bought I bet bought it cos he wanted it and could afford and it wasn't for the main fact of helping a charity........Ukecigstore support my local vapemeet and give away prizes in a free raffle which is a way of giving back to the community and they do this every six weeks.
From talking to them they do a lot more for good causes than we here about........I wouldn't be surprised if this was a charity thing as they don't seem to brag about there good deeds...........almost forgot they even offered to help me when they had only met two or three times........these are good people and I'm sure there's more to this than meets the eye.

i also read somewhere that va only made 300 units and those units where given to friends and sold in small numbers to loyal vendors around the world........so i can't see any of the vendors having many 5 may be 10......I think the publicity stunt is a va thing by creating something on such a small scale that has such a big demand.

Like I said, going to close this thread and the other as I can see that there are two sides to the argument, some don't see it as a problem, some couldn't care less and some are so moved that they would rather leave the forum than see UK Ecig with an account on here.

If you want to leave then fine but we aren't going to ban a vendor because something happened with an auction they chose to run. They only posted the auction to their customer list, they never advertised it on here, that would have been different. I would rather all vendors and all posters have the right to say what they want. If you don't stick up for the new users and challenge the vendors that are doing things wrong then how do we improve and give feedback where the vendor also has the right to give their point? We won't all agree on everything that each other says, that's the point of a democracy and free speech so to fall out over this would be a shame.

Dear Ladies, Gentlemen and MerinoTeflon,

I'd just like to take a moment to address this thread.
It seems that things haven't been handled particularly well here and I'd like to wade in a put some truths out there.
In this, as in most things, POTV are assuming impartiality here, we are purely posting the reply we received from UKecigStore and do not want to be seen as supporting one "side" or the other. Personally I can see both sides of the argument and whilst opinions are being exchanged only hope that we can try and remain impartial and unstained from any thrown... er... mud.

This seems to be one of those terrible situations that has made us seem biased when in fact we are trying to acheive the opposite. I know auctions can run wild, especially when hijacked and I also know that perhaps this situation could have been managed better from the start by the vendor concerned but it is what it is, and I will admit that the 15% discount offered to POTV members, whilst very generous, is probably not the best way to handle it and could be conceived as a bit tacky.

IMO the vendor needs to mark this up to experience and the members need to decide whether they will buy from them in the future or not. It need only be that simple!

I will re-open this thread now for your comments and hope we can use this thread as intended - a place for debate on a subject that in some way escalated.

My 2cents, I still call BS and I still think it was a way of cashing in on the item, why have a reserve? It will have gone way over RRP as others have said you could have held a raffle.

As others have said the discount code strikes me as back peddling trying to regain our business and hope it gets swept under the carpet.

You could offer me a 90% discount and id still refuse, now then im not going to flame the vendor.

You want to make this 'right', sell it. Keep the RRP price after fees etc and donate the extortionate amount of profit to a charity preferably IMO something Cancer related.

*Edit* however I find what they have done Morally wrong, it is no way PoTVs fault, would I like to see them booted from here? Honestly, YES!

But they haven't broken any ToS and its not the Admins or Mods fault, they're caught in the crossfire. Now we all have been caught in cross fire of something before so we know how it feels. Lets ease up and be rational its not PoTVs fault.

I think they were morally wrong, Will it make a difference ?? Probably not as when it all boils down most vapers are not on forums, won't know the details or facts about this whole sorry episode, and will still give their business to them via the internet or in person at their B+M stores.
Will I spend my money with them,?? No I wont. (even with a 15% bribe)
Will it make any difference to me personally whether they stay here as members ??....Nope.

I think they should just clean the egg of their faces and keep a low profile until things calm down a bit as most members here seen to have set ideas on this whole sad sorry episode.
