Hi all,

For a while now I've been using this kit http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/Deluxe-.../Vape-Escape-1100-Deluxe-Kit.Html?cPath=18_81 with a vision ego v3 rebuildable clearomiser. Thanks to people posting YouTube videos of their, frankly amazing, setups I've had the strong urge to upgrade. The problem is the huuuge variety of paths I could go. So, I thought I'd ask for some suggestions.
As to what I fancy since a lot of upgrades seem to be subject to people's preferences..

  • I like lots of vapour
  • I like fiddly gadgets
  • I have no particular budget in mind
  • I'm quite interested in customisation
  • I like things with replacable parts
  • I like brushed aluminium/silver/metal
  • I like chunky but it's got to be portable
  • I like big butts and I cannot lie....

I'm sorry if it's asking too much with my list of demands but I always think "don't ask, don't get) So if you have time then your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I've just taken a step up myself to a mech mod. I found it a big investment but I know it will pay off.

I've now got the below set up but waiting for a few bits and bobs to arrive before I can actaully use it :sleepy:

Nemesis Clone http://www.vapegeek.co.uk/Hcigar-Nemesis-556.htm
Kraken Clone http://www.vapegeek.co.uk/Hcigar-Kraken-79.htm

Rob at VapeGeek was excellent help and would deffo recommend his shop.

The initial invest is expensive due to the charger, batteries, ohms meter etc but I do think it will be well worth it.

I've done a lot of research and PotV memebers have helped me alot so I'm sure we can now help you as well.

Once you have an idea on what kind of a set up you want, make sure you check the classfields on PotV as well, you may find some decent items for a good price :)

I own both of the above and would also highly recommend them as an upgrade! Vape geek were excellent as far as service goes and both items are very good quality! But rather than the kraken I would suggest the kayfun instead as a first rebuildable. the kraken delivers amazing amounts of vapour when dual coiled with steel mesh wicks and the flavour is also amazing! Really when set up and working it is the best vape I have had from a tank set up...... But it can be a pain to set up and it isn't the most portable as it can leak if not kept upright due to its design. The kayfun doesn't produce as much vapour (tho more than enough and far more than your current cleros!) the flavour is fantastic And it is extremely easy to get a good build! A micro coil between 1 and 1.2 ohms with Cotton wool wick and it just works perfectly!
Actually the kraken is a great vape and would appeal to you as it is fiddly! So my advice get both with the nemesis one for an all day device (the kayfun) and one to mess with (the kraken)
happy vaping :)

Interesting reading as I am looking to upgrade too. I clearly need to keep learning as i notice "free magnets" with one of the products. I never knew magnets were involved!

Don't worry about the magnets they are just used to replace the spring in the button as it makes it smoother and easier to fire I use them in mine but the spring is fine if you don't want to faff... Tho it is very very easy to put the magnets in

if your looking to do some cloud chasing on a fairly limited budget you could get a nemesis clone for around £30 and a genuine smoketech rsst rba for about £25 and your off. just add juice, a bit of ss mesh (or whatever wicking tickles your fancy) and a bit of kanthanal wire and of course a bit of research into the safety aspect of a mech mod if you haven,t already

Seems to me that the nemesis mod is like the backbone. I bought one from a member on here & it was a very good purchase for a first mechanical mod. There may be better mods out there or whatever but the nemesis that i have is gonna be staying with me for the foreseeable future. As for the tank or rda, what ever floats your boat. I've heard the 'anyvape davide glassomizer' is a winner but havn't tried it myself but they say it's a better choice than the protank series. I'm using a dripper, the UD igo w-4 with a twin coil set up & that is doing it for me right now. Other drippers are on their way !

I've seen lots of people recommend the kraken, but I worry about those types of RTAs because of the potential to leak. Do you have to keep them upright all the time?

I've got a Kayfun 3.1 on the way as I've been told it is much better in that regards and my ecig is rarely upright.
