USB plug charging

I was told to charge from a computer, console or car usb socket not directly from a wall plug
You will be perfectly safe in charging from a plug socket, I do mine all the time. I would just say use a 1A charging plug rather than a 2.1A or higher.
I would not charge from a car although I have done in an emergency.

I do recall hearing something about certain voltage. Is there products available to charge at slower rates that plug into a socket? As I’m worried about plugging into a usb plug but don’t want to be stuck using a portable power bank to charge my vape.
Most USB plug chargers will charge at a maximum of 1A which is perfectly fine. Fast USB plug chargers are 2.1A which can still be used but be cautious.
Charging at a slower rate 1A will be better for the battery over time.

I think what they mean is don't use a mobile phone charger as a lot of modern ones are fast charging and that is not healthy for a battery. I had an HTC phone charger that charged my phone to 50% in 20 mins or so. As well as potentially being dangerous it can also shorten the lifespan of your battery. But a dedicated usb port at around 1 amp will be fine. A computer etc can be more of a stable charge although longer. I normally use a 3 port USB plug that pulls a max of 2 amps.

I was using a 2.0amp+ mains wall socket with built in usb charger
on my Blu Pro's most of the time & still charge most devices with it

decent mods will not overcharge stuff too quickly
though slower charging is better long term for battery life

I had a disagreement on another forum/matter about charging....
Somebody was adamant a device HAD to charge at 12v end of
ergh nope the device itself says clearly 11v~18v input
so as long as the polarity is correct you charge within that range
& the voltage regulator will take over...

Voltage regulators like 7805 5v regulators have quite a range
but when the input voltage gets close to the 5v output the voltage becomes unstable
hence the 7805 requires a range frm 6v up to I think 24v or more to output 5v accurately

yonks ago, old game conoles would blow up if you plgged a 110v imported console into 240v
nowadays they just make a power unit that takes anything from 100v to 250v to save agro/costs

stay safe but don't fret too much as decent stuff is pretty clever these days

Glad to hear it Mike, I was gonna have a moan lol.
Hehehe. I realised as soon as hit post. Was talking to someone earlier about charging various sizes of batteries at different settings and stupid fat fingers and then autocorrect finished the job for me:18:

Excuses excuses lol. I guessed you meant 1A as your post was reading very well until that last figure lol.
