Hi all

I am about to venture into the world of DIY and need a spot of help.

I have bought a bottle of 72mg VG (100%) nicotine. Flavouring and a bottle of Glycerine.

Do I just add flavour to the nic as its already in a base? Ive tried using the POTV, inputted 72mg of nic but dont know what to input for dilutant as this is not stated on the bottle.

Would be very grateful for advice. (I have tried You Tube and various sites but am still in the dark) :umm:

Simplified - for a DIY juice you need nicotine base, flavouring, and "bulk" (that's your PG, VG or a combo of both)
To use a mixing calculator - Input your target quantity. Input your base nicotine strength (in your case 72mg), input your target nicotine strength (ie 24,18,12,6 or whatever mg), input your concentrate %,
That leaves you with the bulk (your PG and/or VG)
Hit the "calculate" and it should show you how much of everything in Ml's and/or drops to add for your desired quantity.

To help get your head around things, do a few practice calculations of different quantities, target nic strengths, and concentrate strengths, and you'll get the gist of what's going on and what goes where.

AS a guide if making 10ml of eliquid and using 72mg base then 0.8ml of nicotine base will give you 6mg, 1.1ml will give you 8mg in the final liquid. Getting the nicotine content right is essential.
Do not just add flavourings to the nicotine base or you will od on nicotine.

I am guessing you are looking to make some high VG liquids to vape where the only PG is that in the flavourings.

Your nicotine always comes in a base because pure nicotine is highly toxic and likely to cause death if you breathe in the fumes without a hazmat suit, it is used as a pesticide after all. 72mg is therefore watered down with a base (either pg or vg) to render it less dangerous and easier to handle, but it is still toxic. Be aware that not only could you nicotine overdose if you were daft enough to vape it pure, but you can also do so if you accidentally spill it on your skin. It needs watering down further to a vaping concentration with your glycerin.

Personally I use ejuicemeup on my laptop when I am mixing because I find it more intuitive to use.

a ha

Thank you for the advice all. I have just made my first small batch. I was getting confused with it being pre mixed but now all is clear. I am making a VG based liquid as I have become sensitive to PG unfortunately. I think I am going to enjoy mixing my own.

Thanks again. You guys are brill.
