Hi guys,

Been using my Uwell Crown/Sig150 TC setup for the last couple of weeks. The last week has been a bit of a nightmare, determined not to go back to a normal fag so thought I would seek some advice! For the first 5 or so days, the crown was fantastic running the ni200 coils at 40j/400f. Tons of flavour, no leaking issues, brilliant with every liquid I had. After 7 days, it suddenly became very muted. Vapor production was the same as usual, but the flavour was really muted compared to normal. Took a look at the coil, the top of which was covered in a black sludge/slime. Figured it was where I had ran through quite a few liquids, cleaned the whole tank out, popped in a new coil, primed in the usual way and within a day (maybe 3 tanks worth?) I had the same thing. Checked the coil, covered in black slime again, cotton was soaked in it!

So, threw in yet another coil. This has been ok, not great, for the last week. But the whole time nothing has tasted the same as the first 5 days. I've had gurgling issues, spitting, and leaking/weeping from the air flow control ring. All the seals seem fine, I've tried changing coils, changing liquids, everything still tastes muted! The only thing I can think of is that maybe where I haven't smoked for a couple of weeks my taste is starting to come back and I just don't like the liquids that I'm using? Admittedly, I haven't tried using the stainless coils in normal power mode, maybe that's something I should try.

Any thoughts guys n' girls? Apologies for the long post and thank you in advance!

Regarding the gurgling and spitting maybe there was some water still left in the tank from rinsing. You could have vapours tongue if all your flavours are muted. After you prime your coils do you slowly move up in power or go straight to your normal power setting? Literally started vaping on the ni200 coil yesterday had no issues as of yet, I'd definitely give the 0.5 coil a go and see if you have the same issues. 0.5 ohm coils for me personally are a better vape but not much in it.

I dont use stock coils only the rba deck (have u tried the rba deck)and had no problems apart from having to replace my 5 subtank minis with 5 crowns lol

Try cleaning the coil connection on the tank. Also make sure you close the air vents off before you open the tank to fill it as this stops liquid being forced down into the air chamber when you open it.
Also what eliquid are you using? Pg/vg %? Heavy liquid eg. Chocolate will gack the coil up

Thanks guys,

Whenever I've used a new coil, I've followed the youtube video by "quest4vape" in regards the use of a new coil in the crown, slowly ramping up the joules and temp. As you say, it may just be vapers tongue and I'm going slightly mad! It's just an annoyance at the moment, I'll give the stainless coils a try and see if it's the same. Thanks for the replies!

Not used the ni coils but have used the 0.5 and rba deck and no problems. The stock could last me over 2 weeks and that's with heavy based juices. I don't push them. Vape at about 52 -65w max. I do find if you go below these settings the flavour is muted.

I've made sure to close the AFC when top filling, It's not really a huge leak more of a weep, just requires the odd wipe every few hours or so. Liquid wise I'm using 60/40 VG/PG up to 80/20. Mainly Kilo's Cereal Milk, Ruthless' breakfast club crunk berry, Scoops apple delight and most recently I love donuts (I can't remember the maker!).

So I guess quite heavy liquids sweetness wise, it just seems odd for the coil to gunk up in one day.

Thanks again :)

Juices containing a lot of sweetner (sucrose) will gunk up your coils more, nature of the beast i am afraid.

Quick update, had the same ni200 in for 5 days now, hasn't been too bad but none of the original goodness, or magic that everyone seems to hail this tank for! Going to wash out, re coil with one of the stainless coils tonight and see how we go from there, still weeping from the air control ring every couple of days, so going to try changing seals too. feeling pretty dull about the whole thing to be honest, still smoke free but it's challenging when having issues!

Thankyou all for your input :)
