as hi am new to this toy hi could do with some help please it is the vamo v2 aga t2 ss mesh coil oxidised properly 5/4 rap 2.1 ohms hot leg between positive post and coil its wichen ok but the hot leg cuases the ohms to chang and drops from 2.1 to 1.6 what to do to stop the hot spot btreewn positive leg and coil its self hi have moved it closer hi have twist wire at the point between posive post and coil hi hve moved ht up and down nothing is working be gratfull if some one could help me out

Have you tryed just pulsing the coil with a mech?

Take out the middle nut and replace it with a couple of m2 washers. Trap your wire between them washers and tighten up the nuts. The washers will help reduce the gap between the coil and the centre post and should eliminate the hot spot.

When I got this problem I just prodded at the wire until it stopped. Works now.

+1 on the washers. I tore apart two old TV's and a VCR to find one and it cured my hotspot. You can get them from Ebay here but I'm unsure exactly what size is needed. I ordered the 2.5mm but as they haven't arrived yet, I can't confirm that they are the right ones.

I make the wraps of the coil closer together and put the top wire between the bottom and middle nut, while leaving the wick sticking out the top so it still lines up with the height of the center post.

This seems to avoid the need for washers and helps to avoid dry hits and hotspots compared to my efforts with a wider coil attached to the top nut (as it's got a bit of juice at the top of the wick too I'm guessing). Ribbon rather than round wire helps a lot too.

Though it may just be my inexperience as I see in all the photos online people wrapping right to the top of the wick. Whenever I've tried that it hasn't been as succesful and when chain vaping the top of the wick seems to get a bit dry (to the point of burning holes in the SS wick on a couple of occasions).

I've also noticed the coils don't get gunked up so quickly with my method, though again, this might just be because I haven't mastered wrapping it to the top yet or because I tend to chain vape.
