Vamo V5 - A couple of useful bits of info - not in the user manual for new owners

The batteries that are 3.7v are 4.2v when fully charged, that is a standard of single cell lipo batteries.
If you want to know how much power is left in your battery just keep your finger on the down/left button for a couple of seconds and it will tell you.
It will start at 4.2v when fully charged and go down to 3.2v, that is when the Vamo will stop working.
I wouldn't recommend stacking them at the vamo is designed for single cell batteries.
Just because you can do it doesn't mean it is a good idea, again though thats just my opion.
If your top cap does start to wear out you can buy replacements from
Vamo Black Chrome Battery Connector / Top Cap
Indeed it is for the black/chrome version but that is what I brought.

4 months I have had mine now....and truth be told I wish I didn't buy it....threads are going on it..have to use tape on nautilus or nova tanks on the 510 thread to keep it on and fire...can't take out now incase the tank falls off....going to get a MVP instead soon hopefully......be warned they do go....was great at time when fully working.

I was alerted to this by my supplier and intend to get an airflow controller
in the next few days which can stay on almost permanently when I switch
from eGo thread T3S & T3D, to tanks.

The old bank acount is wheezing a little and keep getting outbid on ebay.
Will get there eventually. Have my heart set on an Aspire Nautilus and
a Kangertech ProTank 3 or AeroTank.

In the meantime it seems there are a few Innokin iClear 30b's out there
for around a tenner and they seem to have a fair reputation.

Any recommendations for good quality tanks on a low budget peeps?

Kanger mini Pro 2 is ideal as u can do the coils yourself....about £8 for tank n 2 spare coils...then re-coil yourself

Thanks for that, I was sure there would be a fix for the problem
if it arose.

Purely for future reference - how do you get the top off?

Are there instructions or a video you know of or can you
enlighten us yourself?

thought i'd fling ma tuppence worth in...the 510 is just a weak design in comparison to the ego.
i'm pretty certain the threads would have gone on my mvp had i been using the 510,wouldnt say it's specific to any particular mod.
Small bolt versus big bolt
Small nut versus big nut
Big wins everytime

Plenty on youtube for it...very easy takes 10 min if taking time lol

Will we be seeing in "The Vape News", along with notices of
births, deaths and marriages, a little note announcing the
re-incarnation of BIGG's Vamo any time soon? :banghead:

I did watch a video on youtube showing the "job" but I can't find it at the moment as its (youtube) bloody annoying me. (Ubuntu is playing online video's very fast)
You basically just pull the top cap off, it is VERY tight but it should come off.
You have to re-solder the two wires but that doesn't seem to be too difficult.
I have had my Vamo (myepack) for almost three months with no problems.
Even the black chrome is still all as new.

But I did buy another Vamo from Fasttech as a spare, this isn't a bad copy at all but it did takes ages to arrive.
I also have a Nemesis Mod so the original Vamo does still get used but not purely on its own.

Try not to spend too much.
Yes I'm a hypocrite....

I tend to agree with you, admittedly the 510 thread on a Vamo
does seem to have more historical concerns than on the mvp or
many other mods.

Speaking as a 'big nut' myself I find no fault with your position.

Problem is the manufacturers of tanks presumably believe in
miniaturisation and all the expensive sophisticated stuff comes
with a 510 thread and a beauty ring to hide the eGo thread.

Maybe a few manufacturers should consider eGo threading on
decent tanks?
