I try not to enter any give-aways these days because I'd like to leave them to the newcomers, and feel I've been fortunate enough already. I don't want to be seen as greedy or as a freeloader. But as I'm so tormented over getting into AIO's at he moment, and this is an area I'm so curious about, I cant resist your kindness and generosity, @MajorVape.

There are so many special songs I could choose from, but I think I'm going to hark back one from my youth that helped me through some difficult times. It may not be the best song ever written,and won't be for everyone - or likely win - but it's important to me and holds a special place in my heart.

It's usual and won't be for everyone but...

Hmmm there's way too many to choose from! I find that my "favourite song" has changed over the course of my life, and looking back now, they serve almost as my life's tabs or bookends. Like I still love the songs and every time I listen to them, I get taken back to a time and place, mostly with good memories with great people

One of those songs is Foo Fighters' Everlong. Released when I was in my teens and really getting into music, being in a band and trying my hand at songwriting (of all things haha!). I just think that this song was and is such a perfect rock anthem that is themed around love, whereas other rock bands who've tried love songs produced cheesy or ballad-y songs that leave a bad taste. Great riff, lyrics, tempo, and feel. The dream song to write!

Fast forward several years later and the appreciation for this song was one of the first things my now-husband and I had bonded over just after we'd met.

I find it quite amazing how a simple song can pervade my life in various ways. And so, I picked this one

I agree, there are songs that matter now, or next week, but there are songs that matter of all times, and that was what I was going for, foo fighters is great but for me Nirvana is the one,,,,

Yeah agree with that too, and for me, Everlong is one of those that will matter probably for as long as I'll live.

Nirvana was groundbreaking, especially breaking into the mainstream at their time. Nevermind and In Utero up there with my fave 90s albums. Then again, post 90s there weren't as many good ones to choose from lol.
