There's one thing in your favour. You're not yet applyng corporate bullsqueak jargon into your fledgling business. :)

hi

i am ordering from Reymont the brand directly, I don't know if anyone has ordered from them before?
To explain - POTV's position on disposables:

"The last few days have been incredibly constructive and we would like to thank every single person who has got involved with the debate about disposable devices. This is exactly what this section is all about, to give a voice to every member.

As a direct response, we would like to announce our official stance. From now on we will not be taking adverts promoting disposables, we will not be reviewing any single use devices and we will not be posting any weekly deals offering them either."

As above, as a consumer it's now very straightforward if everyone follows the "new" rules.

As a business - the safest answer is to ask an accountant that specialises in import/export as there are lots of regulations that may or may not apply...
What are the “new rules” exactly? I used to order from China a lot and was thinking of trying again to save some money/ get a clone if still possible.

I never had any issues before, but I think it’s been at least a year or two since I’ve ordered and haven’t been on the scene for quite a while

the seller is supposed to charge us vat at point of sale, and some things (maybe higher value items?) are subject to customs charges. there was a long discussion on here a while ago. allegedly some stuff from china has been intercepted and destroyed due to vat not payed.

i just got an order delivered from fasttech with no charges or problems for what that’s worth. didn’t mention vat during the order process. some of the chinese vendors are also confirmed to be charging the vat. probably worth having a look through the forum and confirming which are still safe to order from.

Ali Express, Sourcemore, Everzon and probably some others are now collecting VAT at point of sale, which in theory means once package is in UK, it should clear customs pretty quick.

Fasttech aren't taking VAT yet, so there is a chance package could be returned or destroyed by customs.

Fasttech also use a 2 man delivery service who paddle with their bare hands and deliver in person but only take like 3 months.
