Has the vape industry struck some sort of employment scheme with hipsters international?

For the last few years I've got most of my stuff online and whenever I've been going to a shop it's been a local one ran by a guy I've known for years. Yesterday I went in to work and had the old "use them or loose them" holiday email so decided that meant go home.

I've been needing another mod for an rda and thought I'd have a look in some shops and pay a bit more to avoid waiting for one being delivered.

I went in to a shop and withing seconds I had a bearded snap back wearing millennial over calling me bro and interrogating me. I thought he might just be keen so I said I was after a basic dual battery mode between 100 and 200w. He then recommended a few Smok kits, called one their best seller, so I reminded him that it was just a mid I was after and told him I'd had a few issues with Smok stuff so didn't really want to chance another.

He then said "yeah bro, we get loads of them back so probs better giving them a miss". Interesting..... 3 minutes ago you were trying sell me them and one was your best seller. I then started to walk away and have a look at what they had for myself, broski was having none of it and kept trying to usher me back to where they had their full kits that were not what I was looking for. I had noticed a bit with rdas, cotton, coil wire and other stuff I wanted to have a look, at this point I may have ventured in to broski no2s patch and became his punter.

Broski no2s interrogation style was little more advanced where he wanted to work out what "level of vaper" I was. So this was it, my time to shine, I have an inbuilt need to impress bearded douche bags with crooked snap backs on. I don't really and I wasn't engaging in his psychological warfare and repeates that I was after a basic dual battery mod. From this broski no2 had my back came over and introduced me to.... the Vandy Vape Pulse? That was it for me so I said I was just going to leave it and walkes out, on my way out broski no1 had another victim but took a break to say "good seeing you mate, I'll see you the next time you're in". I'm guessing this was for the new victims benefit, making it look like I was a regular who would be back.... I'm now an aid in their mind games with this new guy.

I should have said something and saved the poor guy some time but I had already decided I was going for a pint and looking for something online!

In an ironic twist I went in to my usual shop in the way home and said what I was after and bought a Smok alien. Someone had returned the full kit saying it was faulty but the mod was fine!

Are you suggesting that you could get aids from some being from outer space ?

The alien ain't too bad a mod (well the 220W version anyway)

I binned mine alien 85 when i started rebuilding as the battery was like a pipe bomb, sealed in a metal tube with no venting.

I've only been into one vape shop in my life and it will probably be my last. Snapback millennial was present but after a quick up and down from him the level of disinterest was palpable. He then tried to sell me some regulated aspire tube thing before going back to facebook on his phone.

I then whipped out my 4s 250c mod sporting a voltrove and shamed him briefly before leaving.

I'd like to say it had an impact, that he reevaluated his customer approach and vowed to become a better version of himself and make it his lifes mission to proudly serve vapers to the utmost extent of his abilities. But I expect he just returned to funny cat videos and photos of peoples dinner.

It seems like it may be a wide spread epidemic, I feel bad for folk going in to these places for the first time. The first vape shop i went in to was the polar opposite of these places. They wore lab coats, sat you down in their consultation area and brought over the menu. After that they even offered to show you the back where everything was made. Kind of miss the old guy!

Thats the one i took, been using it all morning with a delerium v2 and a dead rabbit. Does the job i wanted it to no pointless touchscreen type gimics. I'll pop back in today and pay for it.

I'd be rubbish at running a shop. I think the same conversations "yes doesn't the tpd suck", "no you wont get popcorn lung", "isnt' the weather nice/rubbish" would wear be down to a nub.

I don't really blame Snapback McDisinterest for the level of despondency now I think about it.

I know I am considered older than Dust, rightly so I suspect, but I really can't handle being called "Bruv" or whatever by someone old enough to be my Grandson. It happened recently when I was waiting for Carol who was having her eye test and a few doors down was a Vape Shop. I was only looking in their window!!! This Bearded Dickhead appeared and started trying to engage me in conversation.

"You got one of them Billet Box things then Bruv, what you need is a decent Mod and RDA"
