So this is my only complaint from vaping, occasionally I will experience inflammation just under my jaw. Where it not related to vaping, I would assume it was the same swelling a cold can cause.

I have found a few posts about in on the net but well quality of reply varies dramatically as well as the source in general.
Here is an example http://www.electrocigarette.com/swollenglands/ (I am not affiliated to the site and hope its fair enough to post the link for context).

Anyway you lot are a knowledgeable bunch and really thought I might get some interesting insight from the forums. It seems in my case to be caused by two factors.
The juice I am using and method of vaping. I can vape dish washing liquid mtl and not replicate the symptoms. I have vaped all sorts mtl at all price points and not had any reaction. I currently vape 50/50 12 mg a lot with no complaints.

Any symptoms always come about after I have been enjoying a higher wattage DTL but I have been running a dual build in a bonza lately and had no issue with two vastly different juices. They are both 70/30 with a nic shot added.
However I picked up a 25ml of Discojuice the other day, added a nic shot, despite that being approximately 6mg nicotine it was enjoyable.
However that has caused the slight swelling of glands under my jaw and mild discomfort that brings.

So now I am trying to narrow down culprits, the discojuice is a new brand for me but its UK made supposedly lab tested the PG should be medical grade? The nic shot is the same I always use, so its a constant to all my short fills.
A PG sensitivity is the go to explanation but I am using a lot of 50/50 via my MTL and around in circles I go.

So apologies for the boring post, curious if anyone else has experienced similar or any general thoughts. It's not a world ender for me, lay of the cloud chucking, go back to my usual juice choice and it will clear up.

Sounds like you are allergic to a flavouring....
Completely wrong example but some merit all the same

Nut allergy sufferers, tiny tiny trace may produce little or slight reaction
larger quantity = severe or even fatal reaction

MTL - little side effects (reduced vapour/concentration of cloud)
DTL - more pronounced side effects
BUT only on certain concentrates, depending on formula/strength

What exact flavouring - fuck knows, but sounds like you have an allergy to some flavouring
(natural/artificial - can't say)

Is there anything you are allergic to or avoid coz you dislike the taste (you think)
I'm not allergic as such to pineapple I just dislike it coz I drank lots of fizzy drink and threw up as a kid
(vomiting pineapple put me off it, now I avoid sweet n sour coz it makes me heave)
Not allergic to it - though I could claim I am, and prompts a reaction more from memory than allergic

What I mean is, you may be allergic to something you normally avoid anyway
but may appear in just in some flavourings & in a higher dose your glands swell up

Most likely an artificial flavouring of a citrus fruit is my first stab, but could be almost anything tbh
Maybe stick with trusted brands, lower percentage concentrate for DTL, or consider DIY and control what you vape

You make a great point, here I am wondering about PG quality when of course the real foreign ingredient is the flavor. I am not aware of any allergy and I eat just about anything. However all of that makes perfect sense and is the logical reason for some juices being fine and others not.
I did a quick google and where as organic juice is relatively common if expensive. It is harder to tell what constitutes quality concentrate/flavoring. I have been planning to make my own juice for a while. However I could in theory try many flavors by say drip hack or similar sites before I find what agree's with me. Hence I made the leap to looking organic or "high quality". I will do some more research, unless there is a concentrate brand that is renowned for being allergen free?
Anyway thank you, makes perfect sense to me and I will explore further.

People often fuss too much over the "organic" bollocks perhaps....

what I mean is if somebody is allergic to peanuts they are allergic to peanuts
don't matter if they are organically grown or not/nut - it can still cause a reaction

Different to artificial flavourings of course, some shit & additives can really cause reactions etc....

Point I'm making, don't spend ages scrolling for friends of the earth certification crap too much
end of the day it is going to be case of trying certain things to narrow it down
you may find it might be a certain flavour first and then later refine it that only certain types/brands cause a reaction

It "might" be a certain berry or anything with aniseed & then only certain formulas of that flavouring
as long as you are not allergic to say chocolate or creme eggs - that would be a bitch

Hmmmm... Easter Creme Egg juice....

Just to say, I have a reaction to certain flavours - TPA's Strawberry (Ripe) and Juicy Peach are two I've found so far. I'm fine with other brands, and even other varieties from the same brand I'm OK with. Nothing like the symptoms you describe, I get "heavy lungs" where it feels like I've been chain smoking cigars all day, but the point is I do react badly to a few flavours.

It may very well be a simple case of blocked saliva glands which can among other things be brought on by mild dehydration. I get that from time to time. Its easily remedied. Fresh lemon juice in some water to stimulate them and clear things up. Drink some several times a day and in a couple of days it comes good. Ill also cut a slice and bite and suck on it. First time I went to a Dr about it thats what he told me it was and to do.

Sounds like your system just can't take DTL too well. You could try shutting down the airflow and give it a more restricted pull and see if that resolves the problem a little.
